Come to our upcoming community listening session and let us know. UWFH's Franklin County Healthy Aging Digital Equity Program will be conducting the session this Wednesday, November 4, from 10:30am-12:30pm in the Community Room at Greenfield Public Library.

Bring your questions, concerns, and suggestions about how we can help make technology more accessible to older adults in our community. The first 30 community members who pre-register and attend the session will be compensated for their time.

Drumroll, please... 🥁🥁🥁

Thanks to the generosity of our local community, we were able to collect more than 129,000 diapers and over 18,000 wipes during the UWFH Diaper Drive this past August!

These figures make this our best diaper drive by far. And the donations will help our diaper bank continue to run as usual regardless of federal funding changes, providing around 20,000 free diapers each month to families in the local area that need them the most.

We are so grateful to all the local businesses and organizations that hosted donation boxes and helped spread the word about this diaper drive! And we're also incredibly thankful to all the volunteers who helped us collect diapers and wipes during and after the drive.

In particular, we'd like to thank Greenfield Savings Bank for their $10,000 monetary donation price match. Because of that, all monetary donations went twice as far. And another big thanks goes out to Baystate Franklin Medical Center (Baystate Health), who donated more than 30,000 diapers to our diaper bank. Thanks to that donation, we made it into the six figures!

If you haven't had a chance yet to take the Community Health Equity Survey (CHES), there's still time.

Conducted by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, CHES aims to get Massachusetts residents' input about the state of health care in their communities.

The survey data that's collected will help local organizations (like us!) advocate for equitable policies, apply for funding to meet local needs, and tailor programs to best serve their communities. At the state level, survey data helps to quantify health and social needs unique to different communities, identify opportunities to address inequities, and prioritize how resources are allocated.

It could just be the United Way socks, but we're feeling all warm and fuzzy about the positive responses we continue to get about our recent Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast!

It's always great getting to meet up with new and long-standing UWFH supporters in person. Plus, the amazing lineup of speakers and conversations throughout the morning really helped to reinforce UWFH's mission to tackle the most pressing issues affecting our community. (Not to mention that breakfast buffet! 😋)

Just a few more days until the Franklin County Community Baby Shower! If you or someone you know is newly expecting, has little ones at home, or both, you'll find all kinds of helpful items and resources.

The shower will be held on Saturday, October 24, 10am-12:30pm at Greenfield Public Library. And admission is FREE!

We will be there to discuss our local diaper bank. Plus, you can trade in diapers you're no longer using, or find a size you do need, at our popular Diaper Swap. Hope to see you there!
