Patriot Guard Riders Mission Statement

Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives:

Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestor

s. We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means. To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedoms of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you. We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all. The Director of Great Lakes National Cemetery Andre Logan is leaving the GLNC, and headed for his new position as the Director of three Veteran Cemeteries in Virginia. Director Logan certainly leaves behind an indelible mark at GLNC caring for all who are interred there, work there, or participate in any capacity with the Mission of Honoring and remembering our fallen HEROES. Today, Director Logan was presented a photo memory board from the Flag Crew, along with a Plaque of gratitude from the PGR. Participating were Ron Smith, the Great Lakes National Cemetery Advisory Council President, Steve Striggow, the Monday morning Flag Detail Chairman, Roger (LEADER DOG) Barnett as a PGR Ride Captain and alternate to Ron Smith on the Council, Ken (VIPER) Talant as a PGR Asst. State Capt., Barry (MUSTANG) Glisson as the PGR Area 3 Senior Ride Captain, followed by a number of the regular Monday morning GLNC Flag crew members. All thanked Director Logan for his cooperation and support during his tenure at GLNC, and wished him well in his new position.
