🐾 Looking for the Right Kind of Home 🐾

Not a perfect home.
A patient one.

The kind of home that understands trust takes time.
That some dogs need days, weeks, or even months to truly settle in.

A home that celebrates small victories:
•the first tail wag
•the first nap without fear
•the first time they finally choose you

We’re looking for adopters who:
❤️ Give dogs time to decompress and adjust
❤️ Believe training is an act of communication, not punishment or an inconvenience
❤️ Understand consistency builds confidence
❤️ Will advocate for their dog in stressful (and all) situations
❤️ Sees behavior as information and communication, not “badness”
❤️ Are committed to helping a dog feel safe, loved, and understood

The best adoption stories aren’t instant. They’re built — patiently, compassionately, and one moment at a time.

If you’re ready to invest your heart, your time, and your kindness, a dog out there is waiting for someone exactly like you.

🐶 Adopt with patience.
🐶 Lead with empathy.
🐶 Change a life forever.

Quirky is the best way to describe Emery.

Emery lived in the Emerado trailer court until his caretaker died. Concerned friends didn't want him fending for himself so they reached out to get him into rescue. He arrived terrified of everyone and everything and let us know he wasn't happy. Once he realized he was safe, we saw how sweet he can be. He came neutered with no tail and deformed or damaged back legs. One we have now amputated. We will never know his full story, but the past doesn't matter anymore. From now on, it's only the good life indoors.

Emery loves to follow his people around and be where ever they are, you really have to watch out not to step on him. As he follows you through the house, he'll chatter away to remind you that you should be sitting so he can sit with you. Occasionally he will sit in your lap, but mainly he just wants to be near you. He loves to have his cheeks rubbed. He will let you know when he's had enough pets with a gentle bite or loud meow. He loves a good kicker toy so he can get some energy out. He also loves to swat things around the hardwood floor, anything can be a toy! Only having 3 legs doesn't slow him down and he still jumps up on the couch and climbs the cat tree.

Although Emery had many cat friends as an indoor/outdoor cat, he has not acclimated well to new friends. (He probably had many enemies too.) He really wants cat friends but feels the need to dominate them. A home with no other pets would probably be best.

The right home for Emery will be quiet, patient, and understanding. Life hasn't always been kind to him and it has taught him to be on high alert. Once you earn his trust and love, you will have a faithful companion for life.

Meet Loofah.
She came from a breeder release situation alongside her littermates and is still discovering what it means to live life as a cherished family companion. Because she missed out on early socialization, Loofah can be nervous around people and is still learning to feel comfortable with touch and being picked up.

Though she’s timid at first, there’s a gentle and loving little personality beginning to shine through. Loofah finds the most comfort in the company of other dogs and truly blossoms when she has canine friends nearby. She would thrive in a home with a calm, confident dog who can help her feel safe and teach her that the world isn’t such a scary place.

Her favorite thing in the world? Snacks, of course! Nothing gets Loofah’s tiny tail wagging faster than mealtime or a tasty treat. Those happy little moments give a glimpse of the playful, trusting pup she’s slowly becoming.

Loofah is searching for a patient and compassionate home that will allow her to adjust at her own pace. A securely fenced yard will help her feel safe while she explores and builds confidence, and a quiet environment will give her the reassurance she needs to continue making progress.

With time, gentle encouragement, and a furry companion by her side, Loofah has all the potential to grow into a loyal and loving little dog. She may be shy now, but every day she’s learning that kindness, comfort, and love can be part of her new life.
