🏆 NEW AMERICANS INTEGRATION CENTER HONORS COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS

The New Americans Integration Center is proud to recognize Holly Blilie, Adam Fortwengler, Travis “Bull” Johnson, Abdirahman Abdulle Abdi and Yusuf Abdi Abdulle for their courage, compassion, and solidarity with New American families.

During challenging times involving ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement), they stepped forward to help, support, and stand alongside families in the Greater Grand Forks community.

Their willingness to serve and support our community has made a meaningful difference.

These two food trucks will be at our Community picnic along with the New Flavors food trucks and West African Cuisine. Join us at University Park on Sunday, September 13th at 5:00pm. (Note: These photos were taken at the Town Square Farmer's Market.

We need some household items for two arrivals coming this week. If anyone has extra silverware, serving utensils, pots and pans, mixing/serving bowls, and clothes hangers that would be incredibly helpful. We just ask that they are clean and in good condition.

We don’t want to collect too much since we are going to pause resettlement starting in October. But we don’t have any kitchen items right now.

If you can spread the word, we would appreciate it! Our office opens on Monday at 9:00 am.

If you have any kitchen table chairs you are looking to get rid of please let us know as we are actively looking for 4 chairs for a recent arrival!

If you have any blankets that are clean and in good condition, we could use both twin and full sized blankets. We are also in need of pots and pans in good condition. Please and thank you for considering!

There are two opportunities to get FREE produce this week. On Thursday, August 6th produce will be at the North Country Food Bank parking lot (1011 11th Avenue NE) in East Grand Forks. The following produce will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday or until food runs out and again on Friday from 9:00 to noon. BRING YOUR OWN BAGS/CONTAINERS

Watermelon
Squash
Potatoes
Carrots
Onions

We had quite a few peppers on Tuesday at our garden. To help keep these coming, we could use any USED coffee grounds for our peppers and tomatoes. Coffee grounds provides the nutrients to keep plants blooming. Drop off used coffee grounds at our office--1815 Demers Avenue. If you visit a coffee shop and ask for the coffee grounds, they might be willing to share their grounds with us.
