Gardening for summer 2026 has come to a close. We are grateful to Live Well Grand Cities for making this first time gardening project a success. It was fun to watch the progress of this garden. (Photo credit: Grant McMillan.)

We are going to be closing our garden tonight. To celebrate we are having watermelon that grew in our garden. We had a good season for our first try. We can’t thank Shilo with Live Well Grand Cities enough!

We are pleased to report that our watermelon has grown! Shilo (pictured below) with Live Well Grand Cities did so much to make gardening a success!

Part of our favorite aspect of the Community Picnic is to see high school students shine. We applaud the dancers and poetry readers who shared their talents with everyone at the picnic. They remind us why being welcoming is essential. (Photo credit: Robin David)

Come tomorrow from 3:30 to 5:00 and get strawberries, peppers, and apples, along with cultural food bags. We'd like to see lots of families take advantage of this. This is happening on the parking lot near the Hope Church.

The Great Plains Food Bank is holding a Mobile Food Distribution with cultural foods on Thursday, September 17th from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at the HOPE Church Parking lot near the Hope Cares HC Community Care Center & Food Pantry--North parking lot. No ID needed. Drive up or ask someone to help you.
