Who We are & Why

The Brian Hartner charity was created in 2018. The 1st annual event benefits four worthy, humble friends: Brian Hartner, David Stratton, Christine Howard, Robi Schmalhaus Vader and others in the community who have touched our lives through Blackhawk Poker. The charity is now in its second year.

Originally this event was in the planning stages to show our support for Brian Hartner who was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in February 2018. However, being the family they are and with big hearts, the Hartner's requested we include others who are also experiencing health issues or tragedies, so the charity and annual event was born. Each year an event will be held to support beneficiaries chosen from our Blackhawk community.

We are now a 501c3 non-profit and will honor Brian Hartner through this legacy.
