Peruvian Hearts

Peruvian Hearts We work to end poverty and gender inequality through the education and empowerment of women leaders in Peru.

Peruvian Hearts works to end poverty and gender inequality by educating young women and creating community leaders in Peru—one girl at a time. Peruvian-born Ana Dodson developed this nonprofit organization to enable young women to embrace education, believe in their own power, and dream of a life beyond the conditions into which they were born.

Today we celebrate Daniela, who has just become the first PH Scholar to earn a degree in architecture! 🤩

"Reaching my bachelor's degree represents the culmination of a stage full of learning, effort, and growth. I am very happy and excited for the next goal ahead. It's one more motivation to keep moving forward and earn my professional title." - Daniela

We are so proud of you, Daniela. ❤️

Thank you to every supporter for making this possible.

"We must teach with the heart, not with coldness and detachment that separates children who need human warmth to become better every day."
— Laleska, PH Scholar

Children don't just need instruction. They need someone in the room who genuinely cares whether they thrive. For Laleska, that belief is her calling. ✨❤️

As an Education student at UNSAAC and a Peruvian Hearts Scholar, Laleska is completing her teaching placement in the classroom, learning what it truly takes to reach a child. Outside the classroom, she volunteers at Casa San José, showing up for children in her community with the same warmth and care she believes every child deserves.

Her dream is to "create an institution that opens its doors to all children who need help to bring out the best in them, just as Peruvian Hearts does for each of the girls who are part of the program."

At Peruvian Hearts, we get to walk alongside driven young women leaders like Laleska, who don't wait for graduation to start lifting up others. 🤩 Thank you to our supporters who make this possible. ❤️

Happy World Environment Day! 🌍💚

We believe each of us has a responsibility to value the world in which we live and leave it better than we found it.

That belief shows up in how PH Scholars live. They regularly show up to care for the environment in their community, and in their latest environmental project, gathered at Qenqo, an ancient Incan site and beloved park near Cusco, to clean up and honor the place they call home. 🏔️

On World Environment Day, we celebrate their example and extend the invitation to all of us: what can I do for the world around me? 🌱

Today, Carlota holds her professional title and runs her own tourism business (), building social initiatives in the very hometown she once walked out of. 🫶🎓

For those who have followed her journey, from those mountain roads of the Sacred Valley to her thesis on the empowerment of women in community tourism, her title isn't the finish line. It's the launching point for the leader, entrepreneur, and community builder she already is. 🌎✨

This is what women's empowerment looks like in real life: a professional title, a growing business, and a community whose daughters now have living proof of what they can become.

We are so proud of you, Carlota. ❤️

Maribel grew up in Huarocondo, outside of Cusco, without electricity until she was 17. Her father breaks stone for a living. Her mother sells chicha at the local plaza. 🏔️ Today, Maribel is a Senior Auditor at PwC in Lima, one of the world's most prestigious accounting firms. 💼🌟

As a member of PH's very first class of scholars, Maribel didn't just change her own story, she is rewriting her family's future. ❤️ She supports her younger sister through university in Lima and mentors the next generation of PH Scholars and women in her community as both a professional leader. 🙌⭐

This is what the long-term return on investing in a woman's education looks like: it multiples beyond her. ✨🌍 This is the long game. This is why we do what we do.

Pati runs toward every finish line. On the road and in life. 👟🔥

In her final semester of Administration at UNSAAC in Cusco, she's completing her last internship before her Bachelor's degree and thesis. From scholar to leader, she has never stopped moving forward. 💪

"Peruvian Hearts didn't just support my studies. It helped me discover my leadership, strengthen my confidence, and believe in the potential I have as a woman." ✨

She's already thinking bigger than herself. 🌟 "I want to use my education to build more human organizations, spaces where people feel heard, valued, and motivated to grow, both professionally and personally." 🌱💼

💛 Thank you to every supporter who believed in her. You funded a degree and ignited a leader who will spend her life lifting others up. 🌎❤️‍🔥

Leidy Libertad didn't wait for her diploma to make a difference. 🙋‍♀️

A sixth-semester law student at UNSAAC and a Peruvian Hearts Scholar, Leidy co-founded CEDAIM (Clínica Jurídica de Estudio, Defensa, Asesoría e Investigación Multidisciplinaria), a student-run legal clinic providing free research, advice, and defense to people in her community who can't afford representation. We are proud to share that CEDAIM recently formalized a partnership with the Cusco Bar Association—a milestone that reflects Leidy's leadership and opens new doors for the clinic to serve even more people. 👏

For Leidy, law is more than a career, it's a way to serve.

"Every day brings new challenges. To face them, I need to be clear about what I'm capable of—and what I've already proven to myself."

At Peruvian Hearts, we get to walk alongside driven young women leaders like Leidy—scholars who are already in motion, already becoming professionals investing in their communities. Our role is simple: make sure nothing stops them. And none of it is possible without the generous supporters who make this work possible. Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️

When a young woman is given the resources and community to pursue her dreams, there is no limit to what she can achieve. ✨

✨ Brain of the Month: Miriam Rosa✨

Miriam brings consistency, effort, and a desire to move forward, even when the path gets hard. She is a living example of what it looks like to pursue your dreams with intention. She cites the words of Edwin, our Leader in Peru, as inspiration for her: "It's good to dream big—but you have to do it wide awake."

Your determined, steady work is paying off, Miriam. Congratulations! 🌟

None of this happens without you. Thank you to our supporters for investing in young women like Miriam. 💛
