For many blood cancer patients, a stem cell donor is their only chance to survive. 🩵
For Armenian patients, finding a match is especially difficult because of our unique genetics — matches are most likely to come from within the Armenian community.

🙌 Dr. Frieda Jordan and ABMDR Yerevan Lab Supervisor Armenuhi Hyusyan participated in the annual inspector workshop and meeting of the European Federation for Immunogenetics (EFI), held in Edinburgh.

🧬 The events took place within the framework of the 39th European Immunogenetics & Histocompatibility Conference (April 21–24, 2026), bringing together experts from around the world under the theme “From Genes to Grafts: Where Innovation Meets Medicine.”

🤝 Their participation ensures that ABMDR continues to stay aligned with the latest international standards and developments.

The ABMDR HLA Typing Laboratory is offering a 1–2 week hands-on internship program designed to give you both theoretical knowledge and real laboratory experience.

✨ What you’ll explore:
• HLA typing & molecular biology techniques
• PCR, DNA extraction & gel electrophoresis
• Flow cytometry & bioinformatics
• Bone marrow donor registry processes
• Real case studies & quality assurance
• Cord blood banking and more
