Summer’s in full swing—sun’s out, ladders up, and the rigs are getting the shine they deserve. Nothing says summer like keeping the trucks clean and ready. 🚑☀️🧼

The Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps writes this letter with deep sorrow on the passing of former council member Teresa Gilbreath. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her husband, Lee; her daughter, Kyra; her mother, Irene; her brother, Stephen; and to all who knew her and were touched by her life. The Borough of Glen Rock has truly lost a champion.

Teresa was a valued friend of the GRVAC and played an important role in strengthening our organization so we could better serve the Glen Rock community. We also wish to recognize her many contributions to our senior citizens, the library, the arboretum, environmental initiatives, and the countless efforts that help make Glen Rock such a special place to live. We are deeply grateful for all she gave.

Thank you Teresa! You will be missed by many.

Edward Esposito Has Announced His Retirement As An Active Member Of The Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

At the March 16, 2026, Business Meeting, the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps accepted Edward Esposito’s resignation with deep regret, honoring him with a long and well-deserved standing ovation. In his farewell remarks, Ed shared that this decision, a tough one, had been on his mind for months. While he is stepping back from active duty, he will remain involved in several critical committees, including ambulance remounting and information technology. And importantly - very importantly - Ed said the door remains open for his return to active service.

It is difficult to fully capture the scope of Ed’s contributions to EMS and GRVAC. We begin simply by thanking him for making EMS better for all of us at the GRVAC. Ed’s remarkable 55-year career began in 1970 with the Ridgefield First Aid and Ambulance Corps. After moving to Glen Rock in 1978, he quickly became a dedicated member of GRVAC. Over the past 47 years at the GRVAC, he has served in numerous leadership roles, including four years as President, sixteen years as Captain/Chief, Vice Chairperson of the East Bergen Ambulance Association, Mobilization Director for the Northern Area of the NJSFAC, multiple groundbreakings for new structures, and many new ambulance wet-downs.

As colleagues, we have had the privilege of witnessing Ed’s many accomplishments. His impact spans vehicle and equipment acquisitions, building expansions, communications and technology management, oversight of the Length of Service Awards Program and so much more. He has written protocols, procedures, and by-laws that continue to guide the organization today. His contributions at business meetings have been invaluable - because of his deep knowledge of the very rules and regulations he authored. Through his expertise and steady leadership, Ed has guided the GRVAC through decades of growth and change in equipment, communications, training, and administration.

On behalf of the entire Borough of Glen Rock, Ed—thank you.
