We are saddened to share the passing of John E. Clark, Jr.

Here is his obituary. He led quite the interesting life, including authoring "Ray Banta's War", a book about Megan and Raymond's grandfather's service in World War II while stationed in China.

“Is Everybody Happy?!”
If you remember hearing that echo at campfires and around CYP, then you remember Don Jennings!

Don Jennings will be 75 on October 2. His wife Dodi Nelson Jennings is asking that we send birthday cards to him. They can be sent at any time. If you have a memory of Don, please include! I'm sure it will be appreciated by both of them.

To All:

We wanted to invite you to join us at Yaw Paw on Saturday June 29th for fish release to stock Cannonball Lake. We should be at the gate at 10:15 am. Please respond if you are coming so we can go through the gate together. We will not wait if you are late since the fish need to be released as quickly as possible, so please be prompt. The actual release will only last about 15 minutes, but you are welcome to take a hike on your own while you are there!

Ray loved to fish and encouraged campers to wet a line. When scouts brought their fishing gear to camp, Ray was vigilant about cutting barbs off hooks so fish had a better chance of survival when released. It seems fitting to provide funds for an activity which will benefit everyone.

So... we have located a company from whom we have purchased 145 large mouth bass, 200 bluegill sunfish and 20lbs fathead minnows. Permit is in place and permission has been granted by the Camp Foundation and Northern New Jersey Council.

With the fish purchase, all of the remaining funds have been spent except for $$ necessary to close down the foundation.

"Fishing isn't always about the fish. It's about the people you fish with."

It's with a heavy heart that we share that our beloved friend William "Bill" Fetzer passed away last night. Bill was very involved at Camp Yaw Paw many years ago, volunteering thousands of hours of service, working alongside Ray on countless projects, including the addition on the house at camp.

There won't be services immediately. Additional information will be shared as it is available from the family.

Wow, 9 years ago feels like an eternity. Thank you so much, Jennifer Polizzano, I had never seen this article from 2008. Reading it today is bittersweet, seeing the thoughtful quotes makes my heart surge, remembering small details brings a smile to my face, and of course, feeling the loss breaks my heart. He was an amazing man and truly lived his life's purpose, every day until the very end. He taught all of us so much, helped shape so many of us into who we are today. I am so proud to be able to say that the legendary "Ranger Ray" was my dad.

The North Jersey Scouting community is mourning for "Ranger Ray," a popular camp leader who taught survival skills to four generations of youngsters.
