Anan Harmon is proud to announce our chapter is adding 2 more little libraries for a total of 5. They are located in Bloomingdale and Glendale Heights. These libraries will not only have books for all ages, but also will have science kits for elementary age groups. Standby for more information.

Members of Anan Harmon Chapter DAR and Mary Chilton Society C.A.R., provided a variety of pies to the Veterans at the DuPage Care Center in Wheaton for the annual Pie Party. Thank you to all who donated the pies, the Veterans were very excited and appreciative.

National C.A.R. information and Insignia for DAR

Ask our Mary Chilton Society C.A.R. senior president and senior registrar how to sign up for Children of the American Revolution and then girls and boys when 18 can join DAR and SAR. A member in good standing does not pay the application fee only the yearly membership fee.

Are you a female member of C.A.R. who is 18 or older? Then you can join the Daughters of the American Revolution! This gorgeous pin can be worn by women who were C.A.R. members and then joined DAR. If you are a member between age 18 and 22 who joins DAR, you are considered a "dual" member. Our DAR Relations Committee would love to answer your questions about joining DAR.

NATION WIDE READING OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE JUNE 8 SPONSORED BY THE ANAN HARMON DAR - 5:00 PM - GLEN ELLYN HISTORY CENTER

Gathering at the Glen Ellyn History Center on Wednesday, July 8, the Anan Harman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Fox Valley Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution joined citizens from across the USA in reading the Declaration of Independence. The reading was the idea of the National America 250 Project.
At 5:00 PM Twenty seven volunteer readers came to the microphone and read all the sections of the Declaration of Independence to an audience of over 55 people of all ages. The readers were made up of several organizations including the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, the Perrin Wheaton Chapter of the DAR, the Glen Ellyn Library and a uniformed Daniel Morgan rifleman. America 250 commemorates the anniversary of the first public reading on July 8, 1776 in Philadelphia.
