Mocktails offer a fun and inclusive way to enjoy social gatherings while highlighting that great drinks don't have to contain alcohol.

In partnership with the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Amplify continues to lead the Connecticut Project to Prevent Opioid Overdose Deaths (PDO) across the north central region.

Through overdose prevention trainings, harm reduction education, and the distribution of naloxone response kits, we are working alongside first responders and community partners to reduce opioid overdose-related deaths and expand access to life-saving resources.

Amplify has also increased community access to naloxone by installing naloxone cabinets throughout the region. Program Coordinator Tsgt. Evan Gustafson has been instrumental in building and strengthening partnerships in high-need communities to help create measurable impact.

Most recently, Evan provided trainings and distributed overdose response kits to Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Association and the Police Department of Rocky Hill. This week, several new naloxone cabinets were also installed, including a wall-mounted cabinet at The Agape House in Bristol, which serves unhoused and underserved populations, and two larger cabinets at Hopewell Health Solutions Intensive Outpatient locations in Glastonbury.

Additional communities across the region will soon receive these life-saving resources as we continue working to reduce stigma surrounding harm reduction and substance use challenges.

We are deeply grateful to our community partners throughout north central Connecticut for standing with us in this critical work. Together, we are saving lives.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re using youth voice and local data to highlight the power of connection, support, and showing up for one another. 💚

Using data from the Vernon Public Schools Youth Voices Count Survey, we’re sharing an important truth: most Vernon youth care deeply about their friends and want to help when someone is struggling.

You do not need the perfect words to make a difference. A text, a conversation, or simply staying with someone can help them feel less alone.

Vernon has become a leader in implementing su***de prevention best practices across both the community and school district through the Partnerships for Hope and Healing (PH2) initiative. From prevention education and training to student engagement and community collaboration, this work continues to strengthen a culture of support, belonging, and hope.
