Grants are what makes it possible for us to have spay neuter programs.

We are thankful we received a grant from the Glenn & Jean Harnett Foundation for the Summer Spay Days program.

Spay neuter programs help our communities, our local rescues and shelters by helping reduce the unwanted pet population. Right now all of our shelters and rescues are at capacity. . We are supporting our local community and local business to work to solve the crisis by offering grant subsidized spay neuter programs.

We always wish we could do more but every one we do helps and every grant we get helps!

Summer Spay Days for cats for $20.00 per cat.
Includes
Pre-surgical exam
Spay or neuter surgery
(no extra charge for pregnant or in heat for this special)
FeLv/FIV testing*
Pain Injection
Short acting antibiotic injection
Feline distemper combination vaccine.
Rabies 1 year vaccine for cats 12 weeks and older
Ear Tipping for TNR if requested

This program is for cats 8 weeks or 2 lbs and older.
Additional services, vaccines, medications are owners responsibility

We have 50 reservations for spays. We have 50 reservations for neuters.
Strict limit of 2 per household to be fair.
Must be residents of TRUMBULL OR MERCER COUNTY, PA.

Only cats that are healthy enough for surgery can be considered for the wellbeing of the cat undergoing surgery.

AN APPOINTMENT IS REQUIRED.
LIMIT 2 per household.
This Grant from the Harnett Foundation is for TRUMBULL COUNTY or MERCER COUNTY, PA residents only.
Once all slots are taken, we close the book.
If you no show, no second chances.

For safety reasons, ALL cats must be presented in carriers or traps.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES AVAILABLE FOR ADDITIONAL FEE WHICH OWNER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR!

*Such as additional vaccines, deworming, ear mite medication, microchipping, flea control, e collars, take home pain medications, etc.

*For additional fee we can do pre surgical blood work
(Pre Surgical bloodwork is required for animals over the age of 5)
*There is an additional fee to proceed with cats testing positive for Felv/FIV.
*There is no additional fee for cats pregnant or in heat for this special.
Fleas are not permitted at SVSNC.
*If your pet is found to have fleas we will apply a flea treatment at the OWNERS EXPENSE!
We do not wish for other people’s pets to get them nor do we want these uninvited guests in our facility.

There is a form that must be filled out at check in and you can choose the additional options.

Steel Valley Spay Neuter Clinic has been in the valley for 19 years and has done over 68,000 spay neuter surgeries!

We received an Ohio Pet Plate Grant.
We are grateful and thankful for the $1000.00 grant.
We have matched that grant for $1000.00 more plus a generous supported gave us another $500.00 for this project.

We have $2500 in grant fund available strictly for spay neuter for people who meet the criteria set forth by The Ohio Pet Fund.

If the criteria are met, and if the funds are available, we will do our best to get the service provided until the funds are exhausted.

We have already had two rescues reach out to us for help and so funds are limited.

What pets qualify?
See the Eligibility Criteria file below for more detail. Cats and dogs adopted from animal shelters and 501c3 organizations are eligible, regardless of income. Community cats and dogs are eligible if the owner's family has income under 150% of the federal poverty guidelines or if the cats and dogs belong to a veteran with a service-connected disability. These criteria were set in state law (Ohio Revised Code) and were passed by the legislature more than 20 years ago.
Preference given to Veterans.
Must be Ohio resident.

You can get the pet license plate right now! You can buy a pet license plate for $25 even if it is not time to renew. There are four vehicle license plates that help pets find homes: Ohio Pets/Pet Friendly, Cat Friendly, Dog Friendly 1, and Dog Friendly 2. Please be sure you know which one you want when you go into your local registrar's office or visit oplates.com.
