Join us on Saturday, June 20 for our second Long Light concert of the summer from 5–8 PM. Doors at 5 PM with music by youbet and Bruiser and Bicycle starts at 6 PM. There will be bites by Chatham Provisions, with beer, wine, and mocktails for sale in the Art Omi Cafe.

youbet || comprised of longtime music educators Nick Llobet (he/they) and Micah Prussack (she/her) who proudly act as both explorer and guide, sharing three-dimensional musical sculptures so confidently and esoterically their own that they couldn’t have been released under any other name but youbet. Created in motion and shaped between long stretches of touring, their newest album reflects a moment of ecstatic possibility and grit. Both sharpened and expansive, youbet grows from the confines of home recording and β€œbedroom pop” into something sturdier, louder, and unmistakably their own.

Bruiser and Bicycle || shows a rich appreciation for disparate styles of music, with notes of jangle pop, art rock, tin pan alley, americana, and progressive folk in their newest album Deep Country, an anthology-like collection.
On their third album, the band strips away the maximalism of their previous release, Holy Red Wagon, trading out electric guitars in favor of acoustic instrumentation to parry away from the symphonic, and toward simpler song-craft. Recorded together live for the first time with their long time producer and collaborator β€œScoops” Dardaris (Undeath, Alex G, Another Michael, They Are Gutting a Body of Water), they capture the energetic pulse of their musicianship and creativity in each performance.

Free entry. All ages. RSVP encouraged.

🎭 BRAVO TO THE ART OMI NYC BENEFIT 2026 SUPPORTERS!

Last night Francis J. Greenburger, Founder & Chairman of Art Omi, Founder & Co-Executive Director of Art Omi Pavilions at Chatham, and Chairman & CEO of Time Equities, Inc., welcomed 191 guests to the sold-out 2026 edition of the Art Omi NYC Benefit!

Thanks to the collective generosity of our donors, we raised $640,000 to sustain Art Omi's core programs: world-renowned international residencies, free exhibitions and public programs across our 120-acre Sculpture & Architecture Park and gallery, and arts education nurturing lifelong curiosity.

The spectacular evening began with cocktails and a culinary experience at Bryant Park Grill, followed by one of four of this season’s most celebrated Broadway productions: Chess, Fallen Angels, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across Manhattan), and Proof.

This special annual gathering brings together philanthropic leaders, art lovers, and friends whose generosity powers Art Omi's work year-round. With so much at stake for the artists and communities we serve, we are deeply grateful for our dedicated supporters whose presence means more than ever.

πŸ“šApplications are now open for Art Omi: Writers and Translation Lab 2027! A $15 application fee helps sustain our review process. Decisions are expected in early January 2027.

Art Omi offers residents the time and space to hone their own craft while cultivating a vibrant community. Through a competitive jury process, residents are invited to attend Art Omi's residencies at no cost to themselves, except travel expenses.

Comfortable, beautiful lodgings and dedicated workspaces are nestled among the rolling meadowlands and woodlands of Art Omi’s 120-acre campus, located in New York’s scenic Hudson Valley, two-and-a-half hours north of New York City.

Art Omi: Writers invites authors to attend residencies across four sessions in the spring and fall. The program’s strong international emphasis highlights global literary voices and sparks cultural cross-pollination. Daytime is reserved for writing and quiet activities, while evenings are communal. A program of weekly visits brings guests from the New York publishing community. Noted editors, agents, and book scouts gather to share dinner and conversation on both creative and practical subjects. Readings welcome the public to experience finished and in-process work by residents. All text-based projects are eligibleβ€”including but not limited to fiction, nonfiction, theater, film, and poetry.

Art Omi: Writers Translation Lab invites teams of translators and writers to a special 12-day intensive residency for in-person dialogue about text-specific questions. Translation Lab is open to translators of any language into English, along with the writers whose work is being translated. Centered around an integral stage of refinement, this is a unique opportunity for collaboration, emphasizing translation as a means of cultural exchange.

CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR

Transportation of cargo on the way to the silica sand extraction site in the Mezquital Valley.

According to the 2018 Mining Panorama of the State of Hidalgo, limestone extraction in the municipality of Atotonilco de Tula is carried out at massive scale. Agregados Cemex extracts approximately 420,000 tons per year; Caleras Beltran 900,000 tons; Cooperativa Cal El Tigre 600,000 tons; and Cementos Lafarge 2.3 million tons annually. Together, these figures amount to nearly 4.5 million tons of registered limestone extraction each year from this single municipality in Hidalgo.

This is the weight of the built world, measured in millions of tons.
