For 251 years, the brave men and women of the United States Navy have answered the call to serve, defending our freedom, protecting our nation, and standing watch across the world’s oceans.

Today, Operation Second Chance proudly honors every Sailor, past and present, for their courage, dedication, and sacrifice.

To our Navy veterans, active-duty Sailors, and the families who stand beside them, we thank you for your service and unwavering commitment to our great nation.

🐴 A New Journey of Healing Begins at Heroes Ridge! 💙

This week, we kicked off a new six-week Equine Therapy Program at Heroes Ridge!

Our first session focused on something so important to the healing process: trust, connection, and creating a safe space where everyone feels welcome and supported.

Through meaningful conversations and interactions, participants began getting to know one another, exploring personal goals, and sharing what they hope to gain from this experience.

One of the beautiful things about equine therapy is the unique way horses help us build trust, encourage connection, and become more aware of ourselves and those around us. Sometimes the most powerful moments happen without a single word being spoken.

Over the next six weeks, we look forward to watching new friendships develop, confidence grow, and meaningful connections take shape.

Healing is a journey, and sometimes it begins with simply showing up, being yourself, and knowing you are not alone. ❤️

At Operation Second Chance, we are honored to be part of that journey.

Yesterday, veterans from Delaware and New Jersey came together for our monthly Veterans Lunch and Learn - an opportunity to connect with one another, learn about available resources, and get connected to support.

Silvia, OSC’s Family Programs Manager, shared information about the many programs and opportunities available through OSC, including case management, retreats, morale events, scholarships, and more. Veterans were also able to connect directly with our team, schedule one-on-one case management support, and ask questions about benefits, employment opportunities, resources, and other needs.

We were especially excited to welcome several new faces this month! We were joined by a representative from Paralyzed Veterans of America, who shared information about their programs and the ways they can assist disabled veterans living with spinal cord injuries and other mobility-related conditions.

These lunches are about so much more than sharing a meal. They’re an opportunity to build community, connect veterans with resources, strengthen partnerships, and make sure our veterans know where to turn when they need support.

Thank you to everyone who joined us! We look forward to continuing to grow this community and welcoming even more veterans at future events. 🇺🇸

🚴‍♂️🎉 THE FOUR-DAY RIDE IS COMPLETE! 🎉🚴‍♀️

310 miles. Four days. One incredible mission.

The rain came down ALL DAY today, but our Ride Allegheny cyclists never gave up. They pushed through the final 75 miles and crossed the finish line at the famous Smokey Glen Farm in Gaithersburg, Maryland, with NO injuries! 🙌

And now… DRUM ROLL PLEASE… 🥁🥁🥁

❤️ Together, this amazing group raised $430,000 for Operation Second Chance! ❤️

$430,000!!!

We simply cannot put into words how proud and grateful we are. This isn’t just a group of cyclists who come together for a four-day ride. This is family. They encourage one another, look out for one another, laugh together, struggle together, and keep pedaling when the miles get long, all because they believe in the veterans and families we serve.

Every mile ridden and every dollar raised will help Operation Second Chance continue to be there for our wounded, injured and ill veterans, their families, caregivers, and Gold Star families.

To every rider, volunteer, supporter, sponsor, donor, and person who helped make this year’s Ride Allegheny possible…. THANK YOU!!!

You rode through the rain. You conquered 310 miles. You raised an astounding $430,000.

And most importantly, you are helping us change lives. 🇺🇸❤️

Our cyclists started their morning in the rain as they make their way from Hagerstown, MD, to the finish line at Smokey Glen Farm in Gaithersburg, MD.

75 miles stand between them and the finish line today!

After four days and 310 miles, we couldn’t be prouder of this incredible group and their determination to make a difference for our veterans and their families.

We’re wishing everyone safe travels, strong legs, and hopefully some clearing skies as they complete this amazing journey. 🇺🇸❤️

And remember, there’s still time to donate! Every mile they ride helps support the mission of Operation Second Chance and the heroes and families we serve.

94 miles — DONE! What an incredible accomplishment! Everyone made it safely into Hagerstown, Maryland after completing the longest day of this year’s Ride Allegheny.

Tomorrow, our cyclists will take on the final 75 miles of this 310-mile journey, riding toward the finish line at Smokey Glen Farm in Gaithersburg, Maryland! 🏁

We’re hoping for great weather, strong legs, and most importantly, continued safety for every rider as they make that final push.

One more day. One more ride. One incredible mission, Helping Heroes Move On. 🇺🇸❤️

Day 3 of Ride Allegheny began this morning! Our riders are making their way from Cumberland, Maryland to Hagerstown, Maryland, tackling an incredible 94 miles, the longest day of the ride!

We’re cheering them on every mile of the way and wishing everyone a safe ride, strong legs, and good weather as they take on today’s challenge.

Every mile they ride is helping us continue our mission of supporting our wounded, injured, and ill veterans and their families. 🇺🇸

All of our Ride Allegheny cyclists made it safely through another day, and we couldn’t be prouder of this incredible group!

Tomorrow brings their longest and most challenging day, 94 miles! We’re wishing every rider strong legs, safe travels, and hopefully some beautiful weather along the way. 🙏☀️
