🌭 Fall Kick-Off Cookout — THIS Wednesday! 🍔

Join us this Wednesday, September 2 at 5:30 PM as we kick off a new season of Wednesday nights at Faith!

We’ll provide the hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, and desserts — and we’re asking everyone to bring a generous side dish to share (chips, salads, fruit, veggies, etc.) (We had such a great crowd at our spring cookout that we ran out of sides, so bring a little extra and help us make sure there’s plenty for everyone!)

☀️ We know it’s going to be a hot one, so we’ll have both indoor and outdoor seating available. Come enjoy the air conditioning inside, or head to the lawn for playground fun and outdoor games. There’s a spot for everyone!

🧡 We’re especially excited to welcome some Georgetown College students to join us for the evening. Let’s give them a warm Faith welcome and show them what our family of Faith does best: making room at the table for everyone.

Come lend a hand at our Church Work Day tomorrow! 🧹🔨🌿

Join us Saturday, August 29, anytime between 8:00 AM and noon. We’ll have projects for all ability levels throughout the church building and outside—plus coffee, juice, and doughnuts to keep us going! ☕🍩

Together, we’ll freshen up our space as an act of hospitality and welcome—and maybe have a little fun along the way. We’d love to see you!

We’ve already received around 40 Thriving Congregations Assessments—thank you to everyone who has shared your voice! 🙌

We’d love to hear from even more of our Faith family, with a goal of 75–100 responses. The more people who participate, the clearer picture we’ll have of where Faith is thriving, where we can grow, and how we can prepare well for our next chapter together.

The assessment takes about 20 minutes and is open through September 1 (which believe it or not is only a week away). You can find the link and all the details in your latest Faith File.

⚠️The church office is closed today, August 17, due to internet and phone outages. Staff are working from home as they are able and can be reached by cell phone or email. Welcome to worship at Faith Baptist Church! We're glad you are here.

Today we will be offering a blessing for all students, educators, and school staff. We will also begin a new worship series, Outside the Box.

God is so much bigger than our fears.
God is bigger than our stereotypes.
God is bigger than our failures.
God is bigger than any box you and I can think to put God in.

Which means that a life of following God is so much bigger than we imagine it to be, too. Maybe this fall we can begin to break down some of the boxes that are just taking up space in the garage. Maybe we can be brave enough to open them up and take a look at what’s inside. And together, we can begin to imagine what it looks like to live our faith outside the box.

This summer at Art Camp, the children explored the theme "Knit Together"—discovering that we are wonderfully made, deeply loved by God, and woven together in community with one another.

It seemed only fitting that our worship would follow those same threads.
We are taking a journey through the Book of Ruth, one chapter at a time. Ruth reminds us that God's faithfulness is often woven through the ordinary acts of everyday people. Thread by thread, day by day, lives that seemed to be unraveling are knit back together.

Join us for the last Sunday in this series as we discover how this small, beautiful book has much to teach us about community, courage, and the steadfast love of God—a love that continues to weave our stories together, one thread at a time.
