If you’ve followed our organization over the last several years, you know that it is normally the time we are gearing up for our annual Red Tie Gala. For those who are not familiar with this event, it is 24000.ORG’s biggest fundraiser that we have each year. This event is what provides our organization with the funding we need to provide help to villages in Uganda and Kenya. We normally travel in the summer after the February Gala.
2020 was hard on everyone, nonprofits not excluded. Fortunately, we were able to have our event last year right before COVID shut down our normal lives. We did not, however, get to travel to Africa last year. This did not stop us from sending money to Pastor Lucas to provide 5,000 mosquito nets, 5000 face masks, and money for a water project and medicine.
This year we are not able to have the Red Tie Gala, but through the generosity of an incredible local business, we are going to install a water well that will provide clean water to over 1,000 people. We are so grateful for the support of ordinary people doing extraordinary giving. We are also looking to ship a cargo container of supplies to Uganda this Spring. Be on the lookout for information on how you can help.
We hope those who have attended our Red Tie Gala before, and others who had hoped to come this year understand how difficult this is for us to cancel our event. I hope you all understand that what we can do is limited as well because of us not having this event. If you can still pray for our cause, and give to our cause, it will allow us to continue God’s work in Africa. Please check out our website and if you can, make a donation. $5 will buy a mosquito net and keep a family safe from malaria. Collectively, our money can provide medicine, clean water, masks, and so much more.
Thank you for your support of our organization and here’s to a hope that 2021 is better than 2020.
