Cleveland Area Backpack Buddies

In addition to the weekend meals, CABPB also provides meals during the extended holiday and spring break weeks.

Local 501c3 organization that works to provide school age children, who do not have consistent access to enough food for the weekend, with weekly "backpacks" consisting of child friendly meals and snacks. Cleveland Area Backpack Buddies (“CABPB”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides weekend meals throughout the school year for elementary & middle school aged children who are food in

secure. Throughout the school year, each weekend CABPB provides meals to elementary age students at Cleveland, Polenta and West View Elementary Schools and middle school age students at Cleveland and Swift Creek Middle Schools. On average around 190 students receive backpack buddy bags each weekend. CABPB has been blessed with a great outpouring of support from the community to be able to fulfill these needs. We can't do what we do without the community support, so thank you!

Volunteer opportunity:

OPC (Oakland Presbyterian Church on Cleveland Rd) is having a yard sale/school supply event on August 15 from 8-2. They need help Thursday 8/13 and Friday 8/14 afternoon from 4-7 pm and the actual yard sale/school supply event 8/15 8-2.

Thinking of doing some back to school shopping at Lilly Pulitzer in North Hills?! We would love for you to head there on Saturday, August 8th anytime between 10am and 6pm to support CABPB!

Thank you to HopeFront Church for the INCREDIBLE food drives that were held to support CABPB as part of their Serve Day! Our storage room went from empty to exceedingly full and we are so thankful and blessed for the continued support we receive from HopeFront!

This donation will be a huge help as we start next month when school goes back! CABPB continues to thrive and support our students through community support and donations and just like today, we could not support these students without churches and organizations like HopeFront!

Thank you to the individuals who purchased and donated food at the grocery stores, and those volunteers who sorted thousands of items of food! We are very grateful for your support!

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Raleigh Pediatric Associates, both the Raleigh and Garner offices, for their generosity in hosting a food drive benefiting CABPB. Their choice to support CABPB is greatly appreciated and we are thankful for them!

Another great community event this weekend! Oakland Presbyterian Church is having a BBQ fundraiser AND a yard sale on Saturday!

You can go check out Cleveland FFA Chapter’s Ag Fest AND then head over to Oakland for their yard sale! Both are great supporters of CABPB!

Don’t miss Cleveland FFA Chapter’s Ag Fest THIS SATURDAY! They will have a ton of vendors, plants from the greenhouse and items made by local FFA members! If you loved the chairs at the gala, they have some additional items for sale!!

PLEASE consider attending Saturday to support this awesome chapter that shows up every time CABPB needs volunteers, food donations, sponsors and anything else to support us!!
