This Memorial Day, YMCA branches across our association will honor the fallen through the Murph Challenge. The Murph is a workout inspired by the life and sacrifice of Lt. Michael P. Murphy, a U.S. Navy SEAL who gave his life in service to our country during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan. Check the app for details about the Murph Challenge at any YMCA Branch.

“Murph” is more than a workout. It’s a tribute to courage, sacrifice, service, and the freedoms we enjoy every day. Participants around the world complete this challenge to remember those who gave everything for our country.

The Murph Challenge also supports the Murph Foundation, which carries on Lt. Murphy’s legacy by supporting veterans, active-duty military, and first responders.

Whether you complete the workout, cheer others on, or simply take a moment to remember the meaning behind Memorial Day, we invite you to join us in honoring our heroes. 🇺🇸

A great time was had at our backyard bash on Friday. The backyard will be open all summer for you and your family to enjoy. Bring a picnic, enjoy some backyard games or just come to socialize and relax. The backyard has something for everyone.

It was a successful week with Swim For Life, here at the Poole Family YMCA .

Launched in 2011, Swim for Life provides children and adults with life‑saving water skills and greater confidence in and out of the pool.

The program offers free swim lessons for children and adults who qualify and is funded entirely through the YMCA Annual Campaign, grants and corporate donors.

Thank you for helping us make our 2026 Swim for Life sessions a success!
