Many people facing hard times don’t get a lot of choices.

They may not get to choose where they live, how they get around, or sometimes even what they eat.

The Gracefull Table Community Kitchen is our attempt to change that.

Instead of standing in a line, guests will sit at a table. Instead of being handed whatever is available, they’ll have the opportunity to choose a meal from a menu.

Instead of feeling like a charity case, they’ll be treated like a restaurant guest.

No one will know who paid full price or more, who paid what they could, who had a meal sponsored, or who simply needed a little extra help that day.

And to be clear, we have tremendous respect for every food pantry, meal program, church, and soup kitchen serving our community. They are a blessing and fill a critical need.

We’re simply trying something different—creating a place where dignity, choice, and community are served alongside every meal.

Because everyone deserves a seat at the table.

It's important to remember that summer can be hard on families. 💛

Without breakfast and lunch provided by schools, many children experience hunger and food insecurity. We look forward to the day when The Gracefull Table Community Kitchen can help feed those families at no cost to them. 🍽️

In the meantime, consider donating to or volunteering at one of the amazing organizations already fighting hunger right here in the Garland area:

• Good Samaritans of Garland
• North Texas Food Bank
• Food Pantry (St. Michael the Archangel Food Pantry)
• 5 Loaves Food Pantry
• Hearts and Hands Community Outreach of Garland
• The Salvation Army Garland Corps
• The ROC Food Pantry
• Sharing Life Community Outreach

Whether you donate food, volunteer your time, or simply help spread the word, every act of kindness makes a difference.

Together, we can help ensure no child or family in our community goes hungry this summer. ☀️🍎🥫

☀️ This morning, I was sitting in the shade outside Bee Hippy in Downtown Garland, sipping a sweet tea from Latham Bakery (my fave tea) and trying to escape the Texas heat for a few minutes.

A couple of young ladies walked by with the kind of energy that just makes you smile. We exchanged good mornings, and after they finished shopping, I gathered up every ounce of courage I had and asked if I could share something that’s very close to my heart. And I handed them the informational packet…

As someone who is naturally a little introverted, talking to strangers about my dream and the mission of The Gracefull Table Community Kitchen doesn’t always come easily. But they listened. They encouraged me. They celebrated the vision. And for a few minutes, they reminded me why this journey is worth taking.

When you’re building something from the ground up, progress can feel slow. Sometimes you wonder if anyone else can see what you see. Today, these two kind women gave me exactly what I needed… a little extra hope, a little extra confidence, and a reminder that good people are everywhere.

So if by chance you see this, thank you. You may have thought it was just a conversation, but it meant a whole lot more than that to me. ❤️

☀️ Downtown Garland Saturday Spotlight! ☀️

This week I’m giving some love to two small businesses that sit right next door to each other in the heart of downtown Garland:

📦 Garland Pack and Ship
Need to ship a package, print documents, or handle business without fighting the crowds? This locally owned shop makes it easy and convenient, and they are always friendly and helpful. Supporting businesses like this helps keep downtown Garland thriving.

💆‍♀️ Massage Moon
Now for my personal recommendation… I had a massage there last week, and I can honestly say it was the best massage I’ve ever had. If you’re carrying stress, sore muscles, or just need an hour to reset, I highly recommend giving them a try. They offer therapeutic services including Swedish, deep tissue, and hot stone massage, and they’ve become a favorite for many Garland locals.

Downtown Garland is full of amazing small businesses, and every dollar spent locally helps our community stay vibrant and unique. So if you’re out and about this weekend, stop by, say hello, and show these neighbors some love. ❤️

What is The Gracefull Table Community Kitchen?

The Gracefull Table Community Kitchen is a Garland, Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Nikisha Pace. Our mission is to provide nourishing meals in a welcoming, pay-what-you-can environment where every person is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.

We believe everyone deserves a seat at the table.

What does “Pay What You Can” mean?

It means there is no one-size-fits-all expectation for payment.

Guests may:
• Pay full price
• Pay a portion of the meal cost
• Pay extra to help cover someone else’s meal
• Volunteer their time
• Or simply come enjoy a meal if they are unable to pay

Whether you come to give help or receive help, you are welcome here.

Are you a soup kitchen?

No.

Our vision is a true restaurant-style dining experience centered around hospitality, dignity, and community. Guests will sit at tables, order meals, and be cared for with the same warmth and respect anyone would expect in a traditional restaurant.

Do you already have a restaurant location?

Not yet.

• Volunteer efforts
• Supper clubs and community experiences

Every event helps move us closer to a permanent home.

What are Community Table Dinners?

These events allow people from all walks of life to gather around the same table and share a meal together in a welcoming environment.

How do your restaurant partnerships work?

We partner with local restaurants that want to help create meaningful community experiences.

The restaurant continues operating with:

• Their own food safety procedures and licensing

The Gracefull Table Community Kitchen helps with:
• Event coordination
• Volunteers
• Sponsorships
• Community outreach
• Promotion
• Guest support
• Creating the pay-what-you-can experience

Sponsors and donations help bridge any gap so participating restaurants are financially protected.

How can I support the mission?

There are many ways to help:
• Volunteer at events
• Become a sponsor
• Donate funds
• Share our mission online
• Connect us with restaurants or businesses

• Pay it forward for another guest

Community is what makes this possible.

Can businesses sponsor events or partner with you?

Absolutely.

• Restaurants
• Local businesses
• Churches
• Community organizations
• Corporate sponsors
• Foundations
• Individuals who believe in the mission

Sponsorship opportunities help fund meals, events, supplies, outreach, and the long-term vision of a permanent community kitchen.
