Downtown Galax Grows

Groundbreaking Ceremony today, August 31, 2026!

Today was both exciting and emotional as Downtown Galax Grows, The City of Galax - including City Council, Galax Economic Development Authority, and several members from The Galax Garden Club met at 10AM, breaking ground in The Grove at the intersection of N Main St & W Center St to make way for many park improvements and for the construction of a stage. DGG is so thankful for the Galax Master Gardeners for all they have done over the years around the gazebo. We have been working with them to ensure their ideas are captured as we move forward with the area and we plan to pay homage to their many contributions to making a special place in the heart of Downtown Galax for so many years! We promise that many great things will come out of the changes to this space that many Galaxians and visitors will enjoy for many years to come! DGG extends our gratitude to T-Mobile for providing a grant for these projects and to our 2026 Partnership Participants.
