Happy Friday! As May comes to a close, we are celebrating our final Friday, where we will feature some of our batty moms-to-be. 🦇❤️

Today we are featuring Variable Flying Fox, Charm, and Malayan Flying Fox, Sprout! Charm effortlessly lives up to her name, with a large personality and her constant curiosity. Sprout is another curious girl, but tends to wait for Charm to take the lead. Sprout is constantly seen hanging out with her bat buddies, Acro, Willow, and Buffy. 🦇🦇

At Lubee, births are not accidental. They are part of responsible, long-term care and conservation. Each pup represents the future of species that depend on human care to survive and to be understood. In just a few short weeks, these mothers will give birth. Their pups will rely entirely on proper nutrition, careful monitoring, and a safe environment to survive those critical early days. 🦇

Your support can help provide support helps provide daily nutrition for moms and growing pups, veterinary care (including ultrasounds and monitoring), secure, well-managed spaces for development, as well as specialized care during pregnancy, birth, and early development. 🦇

Animal Care Manager, Annalyse, recently spotted a peek of Malayan Flying Fox, Acro's, pup! These bats will typically only have one pup at a time, as mom has lots of responsibilities when it comes to raising her young. 🦇

The most teeny, tiny vibes from Little Golden-Mantled Flying Fox, Tasha, this afternoon. This species of bat gets its name due to its golden color and it's small size when compared to other flying fox species (plush dinosaur for scale). 🦇😴

Celebrate with us by getting enriched! 🦇❤

Since the bats of Lubee don't have to do things like look for food, avoid predators, or find a safe place to hang out, enrichment provides opportunities for them to do their batty behaviors. Enrichment allows the bats to use their brains and muscles in a variety of ways. Plus, it makes each day different! At Lubee, the bats receive a unique enrichment item each day. We love to get creative with their enrichment. Here are some of our favorites! 🦇🍈

Today we are featuring Malayan Flying Fox, Buffy, and Variable Flying Fox, Hufflepuff! Buffy, while occasionally quite timid, has a bold side to her that always makes her stand out. Hufflepuff is always a part of the group, socializing but not afraid to make her feelings known.
