Incoming! Prehensile-tailed skink, Olive, definitely seems ready for her lunch this . 😋🦎

As their name suggests, these skinks have the amazing ability to use their tail almost like an extra hand. Their namesake tails make up nearly half of their overall size! Variable flying fox, Vigo, is simply trying to enjoy a little snack in peace. The real answer to this question most of the time is the sounds of cleaning, daily care tasks, or fans overpowering the surprisingly quiet bats, but occasionally our animal care team is to blame... 🦇❤️

Tomorrow (8/28) is the last day to enter to have a Lubee bat house on your property! 🏡

To celebrate the instillation of our 200th professionally installed bat house, one lucky supporter will receive a custom Lubee-built and professionally installed three-chamber bat house with a capacity of 100-200 bats. In addition to bringing conservation home, your support helps care for the hundreds of bats at Lubee and supporting conservation, education, and awareness. 🦇

A nice, long stretch from Malayan flying fox, Gideon, this . 🦇

The Malayan flying fox also has the common name "Large flying fox" because they are the largest species of bat by wingspan. These bats can have wings that reach 6 feet across! As the sun shines on his wing, we can see some of the veins, muscles, and finger bones that are inside of his wing membrane. ☀
