Darden is hiring! We are in need of a part time Community Employment Specialist/Pre Employment Transition Instructor for the Marshall County area.
Duties: Job Preparation, Job Placement & Job Retention to people with disabilities. Teach job readiness skills, develop job leads with employers and consumers.
Skills: Good communication, computer, organization, networking and problem solving. Must be a self-starter, motivated and confident in talking to employers, HR staff, managers, school personnel etc.

Well after 10 years working at Darden Rehabilitation we say goodbye to Debbie McGlaughn! She had her retirement party on 8/20/26 with several in attendance 😍She will be able to spend more time with family. We will wait and see what she will do next🥳

Darden rehabilitation would like to post a success story: Elisha Long came to us with a hearing impairment in both ears. She has a good outlook on life despite her hearing challenges. She just acquired her Pharmacy Assistant Certification & was ready to go to work! She began filling out several applications but after 6 months no employment, so she decided this field may not be for someone w/hearing issues. Dana (her job developer) contacted HR at Home Depot in Pell City about Elisha, she wanted part time. Elisha applied for a cashier position & got the job! Home Depot is very pleased with her & she couldn’t be happier with the job match🥳 She said that she is finally part of a team that supports her & accepts her as she is. Not only does she cashier but she also works in the tool department! Thank you to Home Depot for giving her the opportunity! Elisha says that she is the happiest she has been in a long time & is very thankful to Darden for helping her get this job & a BIG thank you to Home Depot for giving her the opportunity to prove that even with a disability, people can be good employees & hard workers.

Darden would like to say congratulations to Eddie Norris for 2 years of service doing driver’s ed for our consumers! He works hard changing their lives helping them get their drivers license! Thank you Eddie

Darden is happy for Riley O’tinger (although kinda bittersweet) she is moving on after 3 years with Darden Rehabilitation as our receptionist. She will be at Highland School as an Instructional Aide. Good luck Riley, we will miss you!
