VFW Auxiliary to Whorton-Dyke VFW Post 2760 Unwavering Support for Uncommon Heroes. We are one of the top ten providers of volunteer hours in the VA medical system. No meeting in December.

The VFW Auxiliary is one of the nation’s oldest veterans’ service organizations and our members are the relatives of those who have served in overseas combat. We have nearly a half million members representing all 50 states who volunteer millions of hours and give millions of dollars to support veterans, military service personnel, and their families. We are a voice for veterans on Capitol Hill and are instrumental in assisting the VFW pass or block legislation that impacts veterans and their families. Every year, members fund-raise millions of dollars for charitable projects that benefit veterans and their families. We also provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships for our nation’s youth. With nearly 4,000 Auxiliaries, there is likely one in your area working to improve the lives of America’s uncommon heroes. VFW Auxiliary to VFW Post 2760 meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7pm upstairs at the post. If you are interested in joining a great organization whose main focus is helping our veterans and active military and helping our community with special projects, just ask an Auxiliary member or staff member in our canteen for an application.

Just one more way the VFW and VFW Auxiliary is helping our veterans. If you want to be a part of this wonderful organization, please send us a message or come by the post for an application.

For more than a century, the VFW National Home has been a place where veterans and their families find stability, support, and a fresh start—but our mission today is just as urgent as it was at the beginning.

At its core, the National Home is about hope—helping veterans and their families build a stronger tomorrow, together.

Founded in 1925, the National Home was created to fulfill the VFW promise to “honor the dead by helping the living.” That promise began with a simple but powerful idea: no veteran’s family should be left without help in a time of need. When local cattleman Corey Spencer donated 472 acres of land near Eaton Rapids, Michigan, that vision became a reality. Soon after, the Home welcomed its first resident family—a widowed mother and her six children who had suddenly lost their primary source of support.

What started as one farmhouse has grown into a vibrant, supportive community designed to meet the real-life challenges facing veterans and their families today.

The VFW National Home exists to help veterans, service members, and their families thrive—not just survive. We provide a safe, stable place to live while offering the resources families need to rebuild, heal, and move forward together.

Today, our campus includes single-family homes, playgrounds and green spaces, a childcare facility, community center and gym, and support services that focus on the whole family. Just as importantly, we offer something less tangible but deeply meaningful: a sense of belonging among others who understand military life.

Families come to the National Home during moments of transition. Here, they find time, tools, and encouragement to regain independence and confidence.

We provide a comprehensive range of services and support to help military and veteran families with the transition to civilian life.

90,000 messages opposing the use of future veteran's disabilities compensation to pay other veteran's benefits. We need to reach 100,000 or more. Flood social media. Drown out the pro TCAVA messages.
No changes have been made to the active Take Care Of America Veterans Act, however with new sessions starting Aug.31 and Sept 14, lawmakers could bring it back for a vote. Revise it or pursue a different path.
The VFW and Auxiliary fully support the Major Richard Star Act. It is Section 108 we oppose
Congress can expand benefits without causing future Veteran's compensation. Budget rules do not make the outcome inevitable. Veteran's with the same service connected conditions should not be treated differently because they filed on a different date.
REMOVE SECTION 108
CUTTING VETERANS BENEFITS IS A CHOICE--DON'T CHOOSE IT!!!!
THEY'RE SERVING TODAY--DON'T CUT THEIR BENEFITS TOMORROW!!!!
CURRENT VETERANS ARE PROTECTED ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH!!!

Please take action. Let our leaders know we oppose Section 108. Click the link below to have your voice heard.

This is a reminder if you have not yet paid your 2025-2026 dues you will have to show proof of eligibility to rejoin after June 30th.

National Membership Ambassador Michael Maruszak would like to remind you that the 2025-2026 Program Year is not quite over, even though Department Conventions are underway. You still have until June 30 to make sure members pay their dues and your Department can still make it to 100%!

Remember, if one did not pay their dues by December 31, 2025, they are no longer in good standing. If that person still has not paid their dues by June 30, they will no longer be a member as of July 1 and will have to rejoin, which means proving eligibility again, and setting back their join date (which is relevant in regard to Cancer Grants, Continuing Education Scholarships and 45-plus membership celebrations).

If a member has not yet paid, and especially if they have usually done so by now, this is a great time to reach out and make sure they're okay. They could be sick or struggling, they may have moved or changed their email address (therefore missing reminders) or they may have thought they paid already but not double-checked.

"You have until the 30th at midnight," Maruszak says. "Get the information out there! It is truly appreciated."

Edited to Add: to clear up confusion, we are referring to both the previous calendar year (2025) and the current Program Year (2025-2026) in this post. If a member paid their dues by December 31, 2025, they are all set - they are a member in good standing as of the end of 2025. If they did not pay by December 31, 2025, they are not in good standing, but if they do pay on or before June 30, 2026, they will remain a member. If they are not in good standing and do not pay on or before June 30, 2026, they will no longer be a member at all when the Program Year resets on July 1, 2026; they will have to rejoin, which means again proving eligibility. Regarding membership percentages, the current (2025-2026) Program Year started on July 1, 2025 and will end on June 30, 2026, so dues paid today through June 30 will count toward the membership percentages for the 2025-2026 Program Year. As of July 1, 2026, that resets, as we kick off the 2026-2027 Program Year. We hope this helps!

Are you an informed veterans’ advocate?

Simple steps you can take to understand legislative issues and make a difference on Capitol Hill include:
• Signing up for VFW Action Corps Weekly and answering the call to take action when the VFW sends out alerts.
• Reading and understanding the VFW Priority Goals.
• Contacting your legislators about issues impacting veterans and their families.
• Voting in every local, state and national election you are able.

Take these steps and learn more on our website, linked in bio under Legislative, or click this link: vfwauxiliary.org/what-we-do/legislative/

VFW Post 2760 Auxiliary was honored to provide the flag for the Wall of Honor at Regency Pointe. This wall is dedicated to the current and past residents that served our country. Each branch of service is recognized by their official emblem and the veterans names are engraved on the plaques. We would also like to thank VFW member Skip Howell and Auxiliary member Linda Howell for the volunteer hours helping to make this possible. Great job and the Wall looks wonderful. Thank you all for your service.
