What a great day the Kiwanis Club of Gadsden had at the Challenger Learning Center in Rainbow City. Phenomenal facility, wonderful employees (Emily, Chad, and others) and Executive Director, Dr. Farrah Hayes. It was a fabulous experience for all. Thank you Dr. Hayes!

On a personal note, I would like to recognize and thank 2 bold, focused and diligent women, Dr. Martha Lavender and Dr. Teresa Rhea! Without them the Challenger Learning Center would not be a reality!

It was a great day yesterday at the Gadsden Kiwanis Club weekly meeting. Our speaker, Anoop Mishra, Regional Executive / VP at Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta shared information about our economy, interest rates, the Federal Reserve and more.
Our meeting usually takes place at the Gadsden State Cafeteria but we met at The Venue at Coosa Landing and we had a great crowd.
I would like to thank Etowah C.A.R.E.S. for co-sponsoring the event and funding it as well. Also, I would like to thank the staff at The Venue. They always help our Kiwanis Club plan for special events at the The Venue as well as our annual Pancake Day (which was a tremendous success this year).
It was great to have many local bankers, business leaders and municipal officials attend the event.
We want to thank Anoop Mishra for sharing information with Gadsden and Etowah County. We look forward to Mishra joining us again in the near future.

We want to thank Laura King with NewLife for speaking at our weekly meeting. They offer treatment programs for recovery. She provided great information and personal testimony. It was a truly enjoyable program and was eye opening of how they help people with substance abuse problems.
