Our monthly community workshops are all about learning from each other, neighbor to neighbor, right here in Front Royal.

So this round, we're turning it over to you. What would you love to learn? Canning and preserving, gardening know-how, a craft or a kitchen trick passed down in your family? And if there's something you love to teach, we'd love to hand you the floor.

These workshops are for everyone, every age, held on Saturdays alongside the market at Fox Trax. Drop your ideas in the comments or send us a message, and help shape the next one.

This weekend, Debbie's Lighthouse Farm to Fam Boxes are ready for pickup. Each box is
packed with farm-fresh staples from RobbyDs Lil Greens and our hyperlocal
Virginia farmers, enough to build about 5 dinners plus snacks for a family of four.

Pickup: Debbie's Lighthouse, 515 N. Commerce Ave, Front Royal, VA
Saturday between 10am and noon. No need to pre-order, just come by.

$120 per box, or free if you qualify.

Going through a hard season? You may qualify, even short-term. You don't have to be
low-income, just facing a hardship right now. Fill out a simple application on site and we'll take it
from there.

Everyone's welcome at the table.

Our friend Rob from Robby Ds Lil Greens, a regular at Fox Trax Market, is hosting a DIY Grow-at-Home Microgreen class at Reitano Vineyards. Whether you've never grown anything in your life or you've been gardening for years, this is the kind of skill that fits on a windowsill and starts paying you back in about a week.

The class is June 14th at 1pm! Message Reitano Vineyards to grab a seat.

And when you're ready for something bigger? The community garden is right here in Front Royal, and we'd love to have you. Whether you want to grow with us, learn alongside neighbors, or just see what we're building, DM us to start the conversation.

Today we honor Debra Lynne Fox Serreno, the Debbie at the heart of this Lighthouse.
Debbie raised a family rooted in love, hard work, and the belief that a community is something you build together. She passed in December of 2020, but her light is everywhere. It's in this place. It's in the meals that go out to families in need. It's in the garden beds being prepared for planting. And most of all, it's in her daughter Julie, who built Debbie's Lighthouse in her honor and pours that same love into everything she touches.
Next month, Julie's youngest gets married. Another generation. Another story rooted in everything Debbie planted.
Happy Mother's Day, Debbie. We carry you forward. 💛

Debra Lynne Fox Serreno — Debbie — December 19, 1952 to December 14, 2020.

A brick pathway is going in through our community garden, and Debbie’s is the first one. But this path isn’t really about one name. It’s about what each brick stands for.

Every family hits a season where things get heavy. A stretch where putting food on the table feels uncertain. A moment where navigating the systems that are supposed to help feels like its own full-time job. Debbie’s Lighthouse exists to walk alongside families through those seasons so no one carries it alone.

Each brick on this path is a piece of that solidarity made tangible. A neighbor saying we see you, we’re with you, you’re not doing this by yourself.

We’ll be opening the campaign soon so you can know how to claim one. Yours could rest right alongside hers.

BAM Bags are meal kits put together by Debbie's Lighthouse and are packed with real ingredients and a recipe so families can make a full, nourishing meal at home. No drive-throughs. No guessing. Just a complete dinner, ready to cook.

Each bag goes to a family in genuine need, through a thoughtful vetting process that makes sure support lands where it matters most.

A MOTHER’S LOVE GROWS ON — and so does the work she inspires.

This garden is for the community to grow in, literally. Neighbors claim a plot, plant what they love, and grow alongside each other through the seasons. A brick pathway winds through the space — engraved 4x8 bricks that honor someone, celebrate a life, or mark a memory.

The first brick on the path will be for Debra Lynne Fox Serreno — Debbie — the woman this organization is named for, and the reason we do any of this.
