THIRTEEN MONTHS (revised)
I just spent 13 months of my life working on a campaign that appears to have lost.
To my utter shock, at noon on January 20, 2021, former Vice President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., will be sworn in as the 46th President of the United States. To my utter horror, Kamala Devi Harris will be sworn in as the 49th Vice President of the United States.
Due to decades of experience, over the past year, I have served as a consultant to the Trump-Pence reelection campaign. I tried and tried, but as far as I can tell, not even one of my recommendations was given serious consideration, much less implemented.
I’m currently writing up a report on where I believe the campaign went wrong. I’ll pass it along to the Republican National Committee, but don’t expect a response. Maybe my suggestions were ignored because I was not paid by the campaign. I volunteered my time, experience and expertise. Maybe campaign leadership only listened to people they paid.
In one memo to the campaign manager, I asked that my suggestions be given serious consideration because they have been successful in other campaigns. I virtually guaranteed – confidently – the President’s reelection efforts would measurably benefit.
Much of my time was spent on writing about the Constitution and Electoral College. I wrote about how both are being disrespected and devalued. I also wrote how both are essential to our form of government.
The Constitution should not be seen as important as The Bible, of course, but it should be respected more than any other document from the minds of humans.
Oh well. I tried. And who’s to say? Maybe the implementation of my ideas would have made no difference whatsoever. But my never-as-humble-as-it-should-be opinion is the suggestions would have made a significant positive difference.
The Lord’s battle is already fierce and getting increasingly brutal. All you need to do is look around and you will see this is not an exaggeration. But all you need to do is look up to see hope and a promise our perseverance will not be in vain.
The challenges — the horrors — ahead are unimaginable and the cost incalculable. Our future may look dim, but it is oh so not over yet! “The fat lady” has not even begun to warm up!
Let us stay vigilant. Let us persevere. Let us be steadfast. Let us keep the faith. For only then can we move mountains:
“He [Jesus] replied . . . ‘Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.’” (Matthew 17:20)
And let’s not forget that we are currently doing better than ever. Look at the U.S. Supreme Court! Who could have foreseen such a remarkable, positive change? Not to mention the other policies that surely saved the lives of a countless number of children.
Say what you will about this administration, but there is no doubt it has been the best friend of preborn human life of any president in history. Thank you, President Trump and Vice President Pence! (I have no doubt the Vice President has played a major role in the religious “advancement” of the President.)
God bless you, your family, and this great country. We all need His special blessing and encouragement right now.
Happy Thanksgiving!
