A Chapter Closing — A Rescue Rising
The era of a brick-and-mortar Piticorn has officially moved on and out — not lost, not broken, not a dream that could trip us up… simply a chapter closing as new ones unfold.
Thanks to two of our steadfast MSGBR volunteers, Cheri and Eric, the overwhelming task of clean-out, packing, storage, and transition was lifted from our exhausted hands and carried forward with grace, grit, and love. When rescue work weighs heavy, these are the moments that remind you: you are not doing this alone.
This rescue — once run from the hearts and homes of just 2 or 3 people — has grown into something bigger than we ever could’ve held without help. And while our roots will always honor the intimate beginnings, our branches are stretching toward what we’ve prayed for, for so long:
• Dedicated building spaces for our rescue dogs and returns
• More mom-and-puppy foster set-ups
• A safe isolation area for seriously sick dogs
• Medical support systems that don’t collapse under volume
We are evolving from a shelter mindset into a rescue ecosystem built for triage, recovery, and second chances — a place where the dogs who need us most can land safely, heal fully, and move forward without limits set by fear or funding alone.
And yes — while all this transformation takes shape, we are still the same humans behind it:
We still work jobs. Some of us work multiple jobs. Some of us volunteer on transports between shifts. Some of us balance families, holidays, CareCredit lines, vet invoices, auctions, merch creation, adoption events, and heartbreaks the public will never fully see.
But what you can see is this:
Rescue has a new life breathed into it, because people showed up — and stayed.
Soon, you’ll see our Piticorn merch roll out online as we transition to drop shipment and drop-shipping fulfillment for apparel and storefront items — a smarter, sustainable way to keep funding dogs without drowning the team.
We couldn’t keep every plate spinning ourselves. And that’s okay. Because MSGBR was never meant to shrink to the size of exhaustion — it was meant to grow to the size of community.
So today, we say it loud from the place we feel it deepest:
Thank you to the team who believes in these dogs.
Thank you to the fosters who open their homes.
Thank you to the transporters who drive through dawn.
Thank you to the donors who give quietly, steadily, fiercely.
Thank you to the people who see the work, not just the puppies.
Thank you to the ones who stay when the story gets long.
And the most special thank you of all — from a place of bone-deep exhaustion turned into hope:
Cheri & Eric — you are the angels we needed at the exact moment we had nothing left to lift.
Thank you for carrying the clean-out.
Thank you for taking on the storage.
Thank you for showing up…
and staying.
We are nothing without our people.
And because of you all, we are still everything for the dogs.
With love, gratitude, and fire-forged determination,
Brad, Jess & a whole team of others who love these dogs just as much as we do-💕
