Warren County families have a chance to capture a moment in time in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. Through a grant from the Front Royal United Methodist Church, Samuels Public Library is handing out time capsules to 147 local families with children, said Pat LoPreto, assistant youth librarian.

Learn how to hit the trail with confidence from Suzan “Goldilocks” Tschirhart at Samuels Public Library — and then come see why she’s the just-right guide for our WHS Historic Hikes: Marcus Buck & Belmont Vineyards program! 🥾💚

Whether you are a seasoned trekker, a parent with young children, or someone with limited physical abilities, there is a trail and a "pace" just for you. 🥾🏕️

In partnership with Next Bend Adventures, Warren/Front Royal Appalachian Trail Community WFRAT and Friends of Samuels Library, join us along with Susan Tschirhart, trail name "Goldilocks", as she introduces you to the concepts and preparation it takes to begin your hiking journey. 🤠🐻🐻🐻 Hiking is simply a longer, more adventurous version of walking that takes you into the beauty of the mountains or countryside.

This program will cover the following:
🌳Basics: Plan & Prepare
🌳Hiking with Mini-Explorers
🌳Inclusive Tips for all Abilities

Having tackled 645 miles of the Appalachian Trail, Susan "Goldilocks" Tschirhart teaches that the most important things we carry aren't in our packs, but in our perspectives. Susan combines deep technical expertise as a Wilderness First Responder with a heart for mentorship, empowering others to discover what’s waiting for them just around the next bend.

⭐This program for all ages will occur Wednesday, June 24th from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.
