Niners fans, here’s what you can do:
-Demand real accountability.
Jed York leads a team worth over $8 Billion dollars. He was fined $1,100. Pennies to him. You can write him and the NFL and include charities he should be supporting. Feel free to include justiceco.org/donate. He shouldn’t get away with what isn’t even a slap on the wrist.
-Post the story.
Public accountability is often more effective than courts and fines. Draw attention. Share it in your fan groups online and your family text threads. Don’t let it get swept under the rug.
-Refuse excuses.
In the comments section and even in your text threads, you will quickly see people who say things like “they wouldn’t be there if they didn’t want to be,” and “what consenting adults do is none of our business.” You will see worse, as well. Don’t ignore or dismiss (though you may need to block). Share our trainings justiceco.org/register. Use the opportunity to educate and refuse to accept excuses for purchasing access to another human being’s body.
-Care more about those harmed than about team loyalty.
This is when it becomes real, when someone you know, someone you root for, someone who represents the team you have invested is the problem. This is when our real values show up. Do you care more about the red and gold, or more about the woman who should have been protected and instead was used by a man with the power to change her life?

San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was arrested in East Palestine, Ohio, over the weekend for engaging in prostitution, court documents show. He pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools.
