Bay Area Community Health From Union City to Gilroy, BACH strives to offer high quality, comprehensive, and affordable health care for all.

Bay Area Community Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), which requires that we are governed by a community board with a patient majority. The beauty of this system is that patients do not just pay for their health care, they also "have a say" in how their health care is delivered through their patient representatives on the center's governing board. The patient-majority governing

board is a core statutory requirement that every health center must meet in order to receive federal funding. Bay Area Community Health has provide quality health care services to the underserved in southern Alameda County and Santa Clara County.

*BACH provides a wide spectrum of health education, healthcare, and social services to everyone, without regard to financial position, ethnicity, language, culture, sexual orientation or any other criterion.

*BACH is a fiscally responsible, independent, not-for-profit community health center and a key member of our community's vital health safety-net.

CHWs play an essential role in helping our patients navigate healthcare, connect with valuable resources, overcome barriers to care, and feel supported throughout their healthcare journey. They build meaningful relationships within our communities and serve as a vital bridge between our patients, their families, and the healthcare system.

🎉 Congratulations to the inaugural Youth Health Leaders cohort! 🎉

Through this four-week program, these dedicated young leaders learned about Bay Area Community Health, explored community health challenges, and developed leadership skills to make a difference in their communities.

Participants concluded the program by completing a capstone project focused on outreach strategies to help bridge care and connect vulnerable populations with essential health services.

Last week, Bay Area Community Health celebrated National Health Center Week 2026 with the theme, "Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most."

Throughout the week, we honored our patients, staff, and community members. We hosted patient appreciation activities, free blood pressure screenings, outreach with agricultural worker families, and health education events across our communities.

National Health Center Week reminds us that quality, affordable healthcare helps people stay healthy and strengthens our communities. We are thankful for our employees, volunteers, partners, and supporters who help make this work possible every day.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our Ohana Health Fairs in Fremont and San Jose!

Families, neighbors, volunteers, staff, sponsors, and community partners came together to learn, connect, and celebrate healthy living. Visitors received health information, learned about community programs, got help with health insurance, and enjoyed activities for the whole family.
