ICYMI: Nine unsung heroes. Four Distinguished Service Awards. One industry that knows how to celebrate its own.

At last month’s NJUA annual conference, we honored nine utility professionals whose dedication, leadership, and service help keep New Jersey running every day.

Our new NJUA chair, Michele O’Connell, spoke on the incredible work this year's honorees are doing: “They’re the ones that are out there in the middle of the storms and doing all the work that really takes to keep the lights on. Without them, we don’t have a great company or a great industry.”

Congratulations to our Distinguished Service Award recipients:

Niki Allen - Elizabeth Town Gas, South Jersey Industries
Sam Kaplan - South Jersey Industries
Lauren D’Ambrosio - New Jersey Natural Gas
Sarah DeSandolo - New Jersey American Water
Shauntel Martinez - PSE&G
Sarah Jones - Rockland Electric Company
Adam Jones - Aqua, New Jersey
Nancy Rochford - Middlesex Water Company
Kathy Langella - Veolia

Thank you for your continued commitment to serving New Jersey’s utility customers and communities.

Just last week, attendees from across the tri-state area gathered in Jersey City for two days of engaging conversations focused on advancing our communities through strategic utility innovation.

These insightful panel discussions would not have been possible without the expert leadership of our moderators, Raven Santana and Tom Bergeron, who joined panelists in exploring critical topics ranging from energy affordability to utility reform.

Thank you, Raven and Tom, for your dedication, expertise, and incredible work in creating an environment that fueled progress for the utility industry and the communities we serve.

Gajda emphasized that government works best when we all work together, and that understanding the experiences of New Jerseyans is key to taking proactive approaches to addressing our communities' needs.
