The Rutgers Master Gardeners of Monmouth County are offering a FREE VIRTUAL program, The Truth About Garden Myths, will be held via Zoom on Thursday, November 13, 2026 at 3:00 pm.

During this presentation, you will learn real facts that expose gardening myths, common misconceptions about gardening practices, and a few old wives' tales. The myths cover a wide range of topics: watering, fertilizing, soil, vegetables, composting, planting trees and shrubs, plants and their care, mulch, weeds, container gardens, and insects and pests.

The Rutgers Master Gardeners of Monmouth County are offering a FREE in-person program,
Houseplants: Get to Know Your Roommates will be presented at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters in Manalapan on Monday, November 10 at 1:00 pm.

Houseplants share your living space, but how much do you really know about them? Learn about your roommates’ native habitats and how that influences how they are grown indoors, illuminate you on their light requirements, and drink in details on how much water they need. We’ll talk about common pests and how to defend your roommates from attack. Finally, we’ll feature some foliage favorites and their needs. Let’s demystify what it takes to keep your houseplants happy and healthy!
