๐๏ธ Because of donors like you, change is happening and last week, we took it straight to Capitol Hill.
Your generosity put our team in front of nearly 20 House and Senate offices on the Armed Services Committee over three days. Every meeting we took was made possible by your support. One mission: pass the MOLD Act.
Walking those halls of Congress, pushing for the MOLD Act's inclusion in this year's National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), we carried your investment with us every step of the way.
Because of the momentum you have helped us build, we are now able to have conversations that go beyond military housing. Mold and water damage are widespread public health and housing issues impacting civilians across the country. ๐ The relationships your support is helping us grow are laying the groundwork for healthy housing protections for families everywhere, military and civilian alike.
Your support also means that even when life makes it hard to show up, we find a way. Joining Brandon virtually by iPad was Erica Thompson, our Military Families Liaison, whose son is currently dealing with health issues tied to mold exposure from their privatized military home. Together, we made sure her voice was in every room virtually. You could feel the weight of her absence in the offices we met with and it mattered. ๐
Because of the momentum you have helped us create, organizations like the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) are now standing alongside us. A united, growing coalition and you helped build it. ๐ค
If you have ever wondered whether your contribution makes a difference, Brandon Chappo walking those halls last week is your answer.
None of this happens without you. Thank you for fighting alongside us for healthier homes and stronger protections for those who serve. We are not done. Stay tuned as we continue pushing for the MOLD Act in this year's NDAA. ๐ช
