SOS Safe Ride - a program of The Safe Ride Foundation

Some good news for your feed today: Gen Z is changing the game 👏

Recent NIH research revealed that less than 20% of Gen Zers consumed alcohol within FIVE years of finishing high school, compared to nearly 60% of those now in their 40s. Whether they're sober curious, health-conscious, or just looking out for one another, we love to see it!

If you do decide to hit the town this weekend, make smart choices and help us keep Frederick's roads safe for another weekend.

Thanks for having us- as always, we had an absolute blast!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Wayne Dorsey, founder of SOS Safe Ride - a program of The Safe Ride Foundation, to Second Chances Garage!

Wayne stopped by to share information about their Rides for Good program and the work they’re doing to help address transportation insecurity.

We’re excited to be working together to find solutions that help people in our community get where they need to go …. to work, to appointments, to opportunity, and home again.

When organizations come together, we can create stronger transportation solutions for our community.

Thank you, Wayne, for stopping by and for sharing your vision with us!

Nobody commits more than Willem Dafoe, but we're a close second when it comes to getting you home safe 😉

With SOS Safe Ride, we’re lucky enough to have a clear, visible impact within the community- you see us with your own eyes as we work to get your friends home safe every weekend.

However, Rides for Good operates a bit more discretely while tackling a separate, yet equally important, transportation issue we have here in Frederick county: transportation gaps and their affects on reaching necessary human services.

If you’re looking to help your neighbors, have a few extra daytime hours, and have your own car, go to ridesforgood.org today to learn how YOU can make an impact and help your neighbors!

Can you guess how many DUIs helped us prevent this year? ⬇️

You may recognize Alex, a Loan Officer at Atlantic Coast Mortgage in Frederick, because he's been a friend of The Safe Ride Foundation for years. His support this year has helped to prevent 100+ DUIs! We want to take a moment to thank Alex for supporting SOS Safe Ride and helping us keep our roads safe at night.

If you're ready to make an impact like Alex but don't know where to start, Safe Ride Circle is the perfect place to begin. Visit https://www.saferidefoundation.org/saferidecircle/ to learn about how YOU can make an impact today.

The aux cord is a dangerous privilege at the Safe Ride Foundation 👀

Here’s a quick peek behind the scenes at the SOS Safe Ride and teams, and the anthems that define us. Noodle’s choice was a bit on the nose, but we think it's fair to say that she definitely understood the assignment.

Our team had a great time at the most recent impact club! Take a second to explore the causes that we came together for last month 👀

It's not always easy to get this many of us together, but it was worth it for this cause ⬇️

The Safe Ride Foundation team had an amazing time at Impact Club last week. It was a powerful reminder that behind every thriving community is a network of people dedicated to lifting each other up, and we couldn't be prouder to call Frederick home. With so much passion, generosity, and collaboration in our area, we're truly lucky to live in one of the nonprofit capitals of the world.

A huge congratulations to the three outstanding organizations spotlighted that evening: Maryland He**in Awareness Advocates, Inc. - MHAA, Habitat For Humanity of Frederick County, and Steadfast, Standing Firm Against Youth Homelessness .

Thank you all for sharing your stories. Your speeches were deeply moving and serve as an inspiring reminder of why local nonprofit work matters. When we invest our time, resources, and hearts into one another, our entire community moves forward together.

Finally, thank you, , for creating a space where purpose and community collide! Until next time 😉

kinda chic to hit the town with friends; very chic to make a plan to make it home safe 💛

Having a plan before the first drink is poured is the easiest way you can help us keep Frederick's roads safe at night. In fact, if you're riding with us for the first time, your ride is completely FREE.

Download the SOS Safe Ride app, available on both Apple and Android devices, or call in to (240) 722-7422 this Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night to claim your free ride home.

Have you seen our new posters around town 👀

recently asked if we had a Spanish version of our posters. Our response: We do now!

We're always looking for ways to make our program as accessible as possible as we work to keep Frederick's roads safe. If your establishment is ready to start rocking our posters next weekend or needs a Spanish version, shoot us a message today, and we'll get one to you ASAP!
