📚✨ Our Book Nook at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center has a brand-new look!

Did you know our Book Nook was created to help make waiting a little easier for families and children visiting an incarcerated loved one? We understand that visits, paperwork, and questions can sometimes mean spending time in the lobby, so we wanted to create a welcoming space where families can relax, read, and connect.

Whether you're waiting for a visit or speaking with staff, we invite you to stop by, browse the shelves, and enjoy a good book while you wait.

Best of all, children are encouraged to choose a book and take it home with them! ❤️ We believe every child deserves access to books, and we're proud to help foster a love of reading while supporting families impacted by incarceration.

Next time you're at the detention center, be sure to check out the newly refreshed Book Nook. We can't wait for you to see it!

This nomination means so much to us because it reflects the strength, resilience, and support of the families, caregivers, volunteers, partners, and community members who believe in our mission every single day.

At COIPP, we work to support children and families impacted by parental incarceration through family engagement, youth programming, emotional support, community partnerships, and opportunities that help build brighter futures — and we could not do it without YOU.

Our Program Manager had the pleasure of picking up the generous donation, and we are incredibly grateful for the support shown by our community. Every milkshake purchased and every bit of change rounded up helped make a difference for COIPP families.

Children impacted by parental incarceration, substance use, and other legal system involvement often carry invisible burdens. Through this partnership, our families will have the opportunity to experience the incredible healing power of horses in a safe, supportive environment that promotes confidence, emotional wellness, and meaningful connection.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Kids' Activities Committee for planning and organizing such a fun-filled event for our children and families. Your time, creativity, and dedication help create lasting memories and meaningful connections for our COIPP community.

Special thanks to Bruster's Ice Cream for the delicious treats, the Frederick County Public Libraries (FCPL) team for joining us and sharing valuable resources, and Hearts of the Herd for bringing Roury the mini horse, who quickly became a crowd favorite! 🐴🍦📚

We’re excited to announce a meaningful partnership between COIPP and Sliceology 🤍

Together, we’re coming alongside at-risk youth and caregivers to help build what every young person deserves: confidence, stability, and a sense of belonging.

Through community-based support, hands-on engagement, and uplifting programming, this partnership is focused on reminding our youth that their circumstances do not define their potential. Confidence grows when young people feel seen, supported, and celebrated and that’s exactly what we’re working to create together.

We’re grateful to Sliceology for standing with COIPP in this mission and investing in the strength of families who deserve opportunity, care, and hope.

A huge thank you to the Mocha Moms of Frederick, MD for coming together to support COIPP’s Hygiene Closet! 💜

Because of your kindness, generosity, and willingness to give your time, hundreds of diapers were bagged and prepared for the families we serve. Something as simple as a diaper can make an enormous difference for a caregiver trying to make ends meet, and your support helps ensure our families feel seen, supported, and cared for.
