Here is the September Newsletter, featuring events coming up this month and next. This month, we will be hosting a Fish Fry Fundraiser and an Auxiliary Bake Sale on Saturday the 12th. Next month, we will be selling our famous Brunswick Stew.
Our National Convention is underway in Louisville, KY, and is available to watch on YouTube. As a lead-up to the Convention, our own 2nd Vice Commander and District 5 Vice Commander, Bruce Lobach, completed the 2026 American Legion Legacy Run from Lincoln, NE, to Fort Knox, KY. In total, he rode 3,023 miles to get there and back. This ride was to raise money for the American Legion Veterans and Children Foundation. Through this effort, the National Legion Riders raised $1,011,563. Great job, guys.

National Night Out was our first event in August, held at Faith Baptist Church in Youngsville. After months of planning, preparation, and the incredible support of our community, the day has finally arrived!

Tonight, American Legion Post 52 proudly welcomes our guests to the inaugural An Evening with Mark Twain, celebrating America's 250th Birthday through an unforgettable evening of storytelling, music, fellowship, and the delicious Huck Finn Southern Supper.

This event would not be possible without our sponsors, community partners, and volunteers who have worked behind the scenes to make this evening a success. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping support the programs of American Legion Post 52.

🏛️ Special Thanks to The Carolina Manor House

American Legion Post 52 extends our sincere appreciation to Carolina Manor House and fellow Legionnaires Joe and Stephanie Farrell for their incredible generosity in helping make our inaugural An Evening with Mark Twain possible.

Through their generous support of this event, they provided the beautiful Carolina Manor House at a significantly reduced cost, allowing us to direct more of the proceeds toward the American Legion programs that serve veterans, youth, and our community.

Their partnership is a wonderful example of neighbors supporting neighbors, and we are deeply grateful for their commitment to both our Post and our community.

🌸 **Legion Family Spotlight** 🌸

American Legion Post 52 is incredibly grateful to ** American Legion Auxiliary Unit 52 NC ** for their generous support of our inaugural **An Evening with Mark Twain**.

The Auxiliary has graciously donated the beautiful floral centerpieces that will adorn each guest table, helping create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for this special evening. ⚜️ A Special Welcome to Scout Troop 5! ⚜️

One of the things that will make our inaugural An Evening with Mark Twain so special is the incredible support of Scout Troop 5 (https://www.facebook.com/groups/544613227948431), who have volunteered to serve alongside us throughout the evening.

Our Scouts will be welcoming guests, assisting with parking, helping es**rt attendees to their tables, serving salads and desserts, refilling beverages, clearing tables, and assisting guests who may need help carrying their meals from the buffet back to their table.

Their willingness to serve reflects the spirit of community, leadership, and helping others, and we are grateful to have them as part of this special event.

If you're joining us on Saturday, you'll notice a donation jar on each table. Any tips or donations you choose to leave will go directly to Scout Troop 5 in appreciation for their hard work and service throughout the evening.

Please join us in giving these outstanding Scouts a warm welcome and thanking them for helping make our inaugural dinner theater experience a memorable one.
