The One Who Followed Her
Most people on our paranormal investigation team carry cameras, recorders, EMF meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
One member carries something else.
For privacy reasons, Iâll call her Sarah.
Iâve worked investigations for years, and Iâve met plenty of people who claimed to be psychic, sensitive, gifted, cursedâwhatever label they preferred. Most turned out to be attention seekers.
Sarah was different.
She never wanted attention.
In fact, she spent most of her life trying to make it stop.
As a child, she would suddenly know things she had no way of knowing. She would be sitting in school when an overwhelming feeling would hit her.
âSomething happened to my grandmother.â
Hours later, the phone would ring.
The prediction was right.
Years later she woke up before dawn, crying uncontrollably. Her mother tried to calm her down, but Sarah kept repeating the same words.
âNana died.â
As she said it, the phone rang.
The call was from a family member.
Her grandmother had passed away.
The timing was exact.
As she grew older, the experiences became stranger.
At motocross races she would suddenly turn to friends and quietly predict accidents before they happened. Not because she wanted to. Not because she enjoyed it.
Because she could see it.
Like a movie playing behind her eyes.
When news reports covered murders, disappearances, or tragedies, she described seeing scenes unfold in her mind as if she were standing there watching them happen.
People called her weird.
So she stopped talking.
Eventually she learned to block most of it out.
For years the silence held.
Then she moved into a house that changed everything.
The activity began slowly.
Rotting smells would appear out of nowhereâlike garbage baking under a summer sun.
Doors would open.
Shadows would move.
She would wake up unable to move, feeling pressure holding her down.
Sometimes she heard voices.
Sometimes she saw people standing in rooms where no one was standing.
Visitors became uncomfortable.
Friends would enter the house and suddenly want to leave.
Some refused to return.
Then came the investigations.
Several paranormal teams were invited into the home. Most arrived expecting a routine haunting.
What they encountered was something very different.
The moment investigators entered the house, many reported feeling uneasy. Equipment behaved strangely. Voices were heard in empty rooms. One investigation team left earlier than expected and never returned.
During one session, Sarah sat quietly in a room while investigators monitored equipment.
Suddenly she looked toward an empty corner.
âSheâs standing there,â she said.
Nobody else saw anything.
But Sarah began describing details.
A woman.
Older.
Trying desperately to be heard.
We marked the time.
Hours later we reviewed audio recordings.
A faint voice appeared exactly where Sarah said it would.
The voice wasnât loud.
But it was there.
The more investigations that took place, the stranger things became.
Photographs captured unexplained mists near her.
Unusual anomalies appeared around her location.
Investigators documented voices on recorders when no one had been speaking.
One night she became distracted during an investigation.
Finally she looked at a complete stranger and asked:
âDo you know someone named Julia?â
The woman froze.
Julia was the name of a deceased family friend with ties to an oceanfront property.
Sarah had never met her.
Had never spoken to her.
Had no way of knowing.
Then she mentioned the womanâs recently deceased dog.
At that point everyone in the room stopped talking.
The strangest part wasnât that spirits seemed attracted to her.
It was that they followed her.
No matter where she moved.
No matter how far she traveled.
They came.
Years later she admitted something to our team.
The thing that frightened her most wasnât hearing voices.
It wasnât seeing apparitions.
It wasnât knowing things she shouldnât know.
It was the feeling she got from one particular presence.
Unlike the others, it never wanted to communicate.
It never wanted help.
It never wanted acknowledgment.
It simply watched.
She would catch glimpses of it standing in doorways.
At the end of hallways.
In reflections.
Always silent.
Always observing.
And every time she sensed it nearby, the temperature in the room seemed to drop.
As word of her experiences spread, Sarah was introduced to members of Archeia Paranormal Investigators.
What began as an investigation into her home quickly became something else entirely.
The team realized that Sarah wasnât just experiencing activityâshe was often identifying it before anyone else.
She could walk into a location and immediately know where something had happened.
She could describe personalities, emotions, and events connected to locations she had never visited before.
More importantly, she helped investigators understand what they were documenting.
When evidence was captured, Sarah often provided details that helped piece together the story behind it.
Over time, she stopped being the person asking for help.
She became the person helping others.
Today, Sarah works alongside Archeia Paranormal Investigators, assisting families and property owners experiencing unexplained activity. While the team relies on evidence, research, and investigative techniques, Sarah provides another perspectiveâone that has often led investigators directly to answers they might have otherwise missed.
But even now, after years of helping others, one mystery remains.
One evening after an investigation ended, she looked toward the darkness outside a window and whispered:
âItâs here.â
We asked what she meant.
She didnât answer immediately.
She just kept staring.
Then she quietly said something that still bothers me years later.
âNo matter where I go⌠this one always finds me.â
To this day, our team debates what happened in that house.
Maybe there are explanations.
Maybe there arenât.
But every investigator who worked that case agrees on one thing:
Some places feel haunted.
That house felt occupied.
And whatever Sarah encountered there may have been the very thing that led her to become one of the most valuable members of Archeia Paranormal Investigators.
Because sometimes the people searching for answers are the same people the unknown has been trying to reach all along
