Help Homeless Veterans Week: Sept 13-19

As they have since 2018, the First Presbyterian Men's Group is placing coin collection containers at 60 businesses around town to collect donations. The Men's Group donates the money collected to 828 VETS who then uses it to help Macon County veterans.

Pictured: First Presbyterian Men’s Group members (seated) Tom F**g, Ned Kraft and Fred Frankland, with 828 Vets members John Somerindyke, Bill Garren, David Schneider, Richard Pillifant and Dave Porter.

Free for veterans and their families.
Tomorrow night, Thursday the 3rd.
Thank you, Western North Carolina Veterans Purpose!

American Legion Post 553 and WNC Veterans Purpose invite veterans and their families to a special showing of My Dead Friend Zoe on September 3 at 6:00 PM at Ruby Cinemas in Franklin.

This film brings together humor, friendship, the bonds formed through military service, and some of the challenges veterans can face after coming home. While it touches on some serious subjects, it does so with plenty of heart and humor — and we thought it would be a great opportunity to simply come together as a veteran community.

You are not alone. Together, we find purpose. 🇺🇸

Join us at our Community Engagement Social tonight (Friday) at 5pm at Picantes and also at Lazy Hiker afterwards for some laid-back fun. We want to engage our community and that means you and all your closest friends, coworkers, families who want to engage veterans. Thank you!

*Always the last Friday of the month, we hold our community engagement socials at various establishments in the 828 area code. Next month, if you want to try a place out of town, we will be at Breadheads' Tiki Shak on May 29, and then we plan to be at Slanted Window Wines on June 26th.

Also, look for us at the local gun show this weekend, all over at community events next month, and at the farmer's market selling hot dogs again this summer!
