The power of the Georgia Rotary Student Program 🌍💙

Ten years ago, Mac and Kim Cantrell opened their home as host parents to Anna Sartell, an exchange student from Sweden through the Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP). What began as a single year of cultural exchange grew into a lasting friendship rooted in love, connection, and shared memories.

Over the years, they stayed connected through holidays, birthdays, and life’s special moments. And last week, they reunited in Amsterdam for three full days of great food, beautiful sights, and meaningful conversation.

GRSP truly brings the world to Georgia… and creates relationships that last a lifetime. Rotary is bigger than meetings and service projects. It’s about people, connection, and building bridges that span oceans and decades.

Yesterday, we had the honor of recognizing two outstanding students from Columbus High School through our Laws of Life Essay Awards program. 🎉

Congratulations to:
✨ Tiffany Zheng — Grade Winner & School Winner
✨ Azaria Davis — 9th Grade Winner

The Laws of Life Essay program encourages students to reflect on the values and principles that guide their lives, and we are continually inspired by the thoughtfulness, character, and leadership shown by these young people.

Thank you to Columbus High School for partnering with us in celebrating the next generation of leaders and changemakers in our community. We are proud to support programs that encourage integrity, compassion, and purpose among local students.

Please join us in congratulating Tiffany and Azaria on this well-deserved recognition! 👏

Our North Columbus Rotary crew had the privilege of cooking dinner yesterday for the amazing families at the Family House of West Georgia! 🍝

We whipped up a delicious spread of pasta, salad, warm bread, Brussels sprouts, and fresh-baked cookies to bring a little comfort to their evening. 🍪❤

When families are going through tough times with a child in the hospital, a warm, home-cooked meal is one less thing they have to worry about. We are so grateful to our members who stepped up to bring a little extra comfort and "Service Above Self" to these resilient families.

❤️ Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!

With over 24 years of service in the U.S. Army, he brings an incredible wealth of experience in logistics, human resources, and large-scale management to our community’s workforce and veteran transition efforts.

Come hear how education and industry collaboration are creating new opportunities for veterans and civilians alike right here in Columbus!

Safety first in our schools! 🛡️ We’ve officially received 12 opioid overdose response kits to be installed in our local high schools.

This project was made possible by a $3,976 grant from District 6900 and our partnership with the Rotary Action Group for Addiction Prevention (RAGAP). It was an honor to meet with RAGAP’s North America Chapter Leader, Larry Kennemore, at the District Conference to celebrate this milestone.

Providing these resources is just one way we are working to protect our community’s future.

History is riding again! 🐎 On May 1st, North Columbus Rotarian Robbie Green officially sets off on another Miracle Riders trip. This year’s "Pony Express Ride" keeps a great American tradition alive by delivering handwritten messages from our community to loved ones across the country—all on two wheels. We are so proud of Robbie for representing us on this journey!

Safe travels, Robbie! 🏍️✉️

Better together! 🤝

We are so proud to announce that the three Rotary clubs of Columbus united to raise over $35,000 for MercyMed of Columbus! 🏃‍♂️💨

A massive thank you to every volunteer, sponsor, and runner who helped close out this project. It’s amazing to see what we can accomplish when we work together for our community. Can't wait to hit the ground running again next year!
