The Indiana Musical Theatre Foundation is driven to present stage productions for the community of Fort Wayne that will amplify our community’s artistic culture through the theatrical experience. The Fort Wayne Summer Music Theatre is proud to provide students with a bigger challenge as actors, singers, dancers, musicians and technicians. FWSMT will continue to present stage productions of a large

r scale than students would experience in their own high school programs. FWSMT will offer students an eight-week intensive production schedule that includes singing, acting, dancing, set construction, and stage combat. By the end of the process, it is our goal that students leave with a more advanced skillset as young performers. Our program will utilize student technicians, lead by professional educators to teach the craft of set, lighting, sound, and costume design. Any student may audition for any role; none are pre-cast or limited to any student because of their race, weight, religious views, handicap, or sexual orientation. The students will be treated with the same respect and professionalism that they would find in the professional world of performance. Production Staff:

IMTF is THRILLED to announce our talent packed cast for Dear Evan Hansen!

Seventeen-year-old Evan Hansen has felt invisible his entire life. But when a tragedy shocks his community and thrusts him into the center of a rapidly evolving controversy, Evan is given the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to be somebody else. As his web of well-intentioned lies begins to unravel, though, Evan is forced to confront the fact that the price of belonging may be far steeper than he bargained for.

It's time!! Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 16th.

Audition registration for IMTF's Dear Evan Hansen is LIVE!

Dear Evan Hansen tells the story of a young man with social anxiety disorder who so yearns to make a connection with his peers that he fabricates a relationship with a deceased student to become closer to the boy’s family. When a classmate commits su***de, shy Evan Hansen finds himself at the center of the tragedy and turmoil. In a misguided attempt to comfort the boy’s grieving family, Evan pretends that he was actually good friends with their son. He invents a fabricated email account to “prove” their friendship, and when a fake su***de note makes its way online, Evan finds himself the unintended face of a viral video about loneliness and friendship.

With a fast-paced new score from fresh young songwriting duo Pasek and Paul, (not to mention a few Tony awards), Dear Evan Hansen has become an instant hit among theatergoers everywhere.

Inspired by Alanis Morissette’s groundbreaking album, this Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical dives into themes of identity, addiction, trauma, healing, and connection in modern America.

Centered around the seemingly perfect suburban Healy family, the show explores mental health, sexual assault, opioid addiction, race, gender identity, and the pressures of social media.
