Why Wednesday 💚

While our Meals for Kids Backpack Program may pause during the summer, the need for food support in our community continues year-round. That’s why our food pantry remains open — helping families beyond the classroom.

Our pantry is dedicated to serving individuals and families facing unique challenges, including seniors, veterans, individuals with disabilities, those living on fixed incomes, and people undergoing medical treatment. We are honored to partner with the Reynolds Cancer Support House and the Dialysis Center to help provide nutritious food to their patients.

This past school year, together, we served 70,565 kids through our backpack meal program. 🎒🍎

That’s 70,565 reminders to children in our community that they are seen, cared for, and supported.

None of this happens without our volunteers, donors, sponsors, and community partners. Thank you for helping us fight childhood hunger one backpack at a time.

As we wrap up another school year of packing for our Meals for Kids Backpack Program, we want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to the incredible volunteers and packers who have shown up week after week to help feed children across the River Valley. ❤️

Because of your time, hard work, and dedication, thousands of kids went home each weekend knowing they would have food to eat. From churches, businesses, civic groups, schools, families, and individuals — every single person who packed a bag made a difference.

This program simply would not be possible without our amazing community standing beside us. Whether you packed one time or every month, please know your hands helped feed hungry children and brought hope to families throughout our 7-county service area.

Thank you for caring. Thank you for serving. Thank you for helping us make sure no child goes hungry. 💙

Why does giving back matter? Because even small acts of generosity can make a big impact.

A $3 donation. A few canned goods. One small act of kindness. It may not seem like much, but together, those gifts help the Community Service Clearinghouse provide food and support to local children and families through the Meals for Kids Backpack Program and the One Site Food Pantry.

When a community comes together, even the smallest contributions can help feed a child, stock pantry shelves, and remind families they are not alone. 💙
