The Fort Hamilton Community Spouses' Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all-volunteer organization dedicated to building community, strengthening resiliency, and promoting the educational advancement and professional development of military families and those who work in support of them. The FHCSF leadership and the majority of its volunteers are military dependents, retirees or veterans workin
g from within and as a part of the community they serve. Eligible members are the spouses of active duty Soldiers of the Armed Forces, spouses of retired or deceased Soldiers, family members 18 years or older residing in the household of a Soldier, civilian employees, spouses of the Reserve Component and National Guard living in the Fort Hamilton area and civilians who volunteer and support our Fort Hamilton community. The Fort Hamilton Community Spouses' Foundation Thrift Store, overseen by the Fort Hamilton Community Spouses' Foundation serves the community as a resale and consignment outlet for new or used items. It provides military families, who relocate frequently, with an opportunity to buy and/or sell goods at competitive prices. Academic and Professional Grant
With a focus on helping military families remain flexible and adaptable in the face of ever-changing education and career demands, the FHCSF had recently created the Academic and Professional Grant. This grant program provides smaller awards to military spouses and young adults to help defray or cover the cost of licensure exams, certification courses, tests, and continuing education events.
