Our friends at Preserve Fort Colins have just informed us that on November 1st, the Fort Collins City Council changed the land use code putting profits before people, effectively eliminating citizen participation in the name of expediency instead of transparency and an interactive public process. The worst part- the new Land Development Code does NOT guarantee or mandate affordable housing. We want a say about what happens in our neighborhoods, so Preserve Fort Collins is gathering signatures to reverse the Council’s ill-advised Ordinance through the City Charter’s Referendum process. There is only 20 days to get 400 signature packets filled out and turned in. If you want to ensure our voices are heard BEFORE building happens in and around our neighborhoods, click here to find out where you can pick up a packet! Many hands make for light work :)

On November 1, 2022, the Fort Collins City Council ignored the voice of the public and replaced our previous Land Use Code with a “Land DEVELOPMENT Code” that will force neighborhoods to accept high-density housing, effectively eliminating single-family low-density zoning. With or without an HOA...

Are you prepared for an emergency? Please join us at this family-friendly event. There will be a free preparedness class for kids K-5, Hands-on CPR and Stop the Bleed Training, and a home safety class.

Preparing for possible emergencies is essential because they can strike suddenly and violently at any time and place. There are three steps everyone can take that can help make a difference: get a kit, make a plan, and be informed.

You may sign up for a free smoke alarm installation and get free basic Survival Supplies at the event. (while supplies last or first 30 families)

The Larimer County Assessor Bob Overbeck will also attend with staff to answer questions homeowners might have regarding natural disasters and valuations.

Hey everyone, if you are happy about the recent passage of Ballot Measure 26 would you mind pitching in what you can? The campaign still has $200.00 in unpaid invoices from outreach. Let’s show the organizers who worked so hard getting this passed by passing the hat so to speak so that they don’t have to cover the bill shall we?

You may donate at www.Yeson26.com

Thank you Fort Collins for making the healthy choice the easy choice in Fort Collins!

If you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, you can start doing some things again, like gathering indoors with other fully vaccinated friends and family without wearing a mask.

You can gather indoors with unvaccinated people from one other household (like relatives who all live together) without masks, unless any of them is at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3btJaFU.

Hello Ft. Collins Plastic Pollution Activist,

Thank you to everyone's help today! Wow - we had over 35 volunteers that delivered nearly 3000 Vote Yes on 26 door hangers in many communities throughout our beautiful city. The fantastic turnout today was impressive, as was the positive response from many community members.

However, we can't become complacent. We have 9 days until the election, and have 25 more assignments for neighborhoods to deliver flyers to. If you have some spare time tomorrow, stop by my house and pick up some more flyers. Our children will thank you for reducing our annual grocery store checkout line production of 52 million bags by up to 90%. It is the healthy choice for Fort Collins!

We're looking for a couple dozen volunteers for tomorrow. Can you come?

Citizens for A Healthy Fort Collins

Citizens for a Healthy Ft Collins (HealthyFoCo) is a non-profit, formed by a coalition of Ft. Collins residents to promote public health and safety through community outreach, education, reliable news, and communications on social media. Founded in 2013, Citizens for a Healthy Fort Collins has registered with the State of Colorado as Citizens for a Healthy Fort Collins Fund.

Our current community outreach project is to provide CDC-approved, three-layered, handmade, hand-washable, and reusable cloth masks at no cost. We do this through volunteer efforts and donations for anyone in the community who requests one, and senior care staff and residents.

To request a mask, please email, call or text your name, phone number, home address, and email address, along with how many women and men's masks you need. A volunteer will reach out to you to schedule a contact-free delivery. We ask that people request one mask per household member because they are reusable, except for people receiving ongoing medical treatment who might need a back up while masks are in the laundry or drying.
