Across the Intermountain Division, that love inspires us to serve our neighbors with compassion and bring hope to our communities.

MAKE A PLACE, SHARE GOD’S GRACE

MATTHEW 25:34 (NIrV)

“Then the King will speak to those on his right. He will say, ‘My Father has blessed you. Come & take what is yours. It is the kingdom prepared for you since the world was created.’”

REFLECTION
Jesus begins with one powerful word: “Come.”

That word welcomes us, gathers us, & draws us into God’s grace. Jesus does not begin with what we have accomplished, what we possess, or where we come from. Jesus begins with an invitation. Come.

Throughout Matthew 25, Jesus shows us what that invitation means for the way we live together. We feed those who hunger. We offer water to those who thirst. We welcome the stranger. We care for those who suffer. We remember those whom others overlook.

Jesus takes these ordinary acts of compassion & gives them extraordinary meaning. When we care for one another, we encounter Christ.

That truth invites each of us to ask: Who does God invite us to notice today?

Perhaps we notice someone others overlook. Perhaps we help someone carrying a burden quietly. Perhaps we welcome someone who wonders whether anyone has room for them. Perhaps we simply stop long enough to listen to someone who needs to know that they matter.

We do not need extraordinary resources to live this Gospel. We need open eyes, willing hearts, & the courage to act with compassion.

Every day gives us opportunities to make God’s love tangible. A welcome, a meal, a conversation, a helping hand, or a moment of kindness can become holy ground.

Jesus calls us to build communities where everyone encounters dignity, compassion, & belonging.

So when Christ says, “Come,” may we hear more than an invitation for ourselves. May we hear a call to extend that same welcome to others.

And may our lives say clearly to everyone we meet:

There is room for you here.😇

LET’S PRAY!
SOVEREIGN LORD, open our eyes to see you in one another. Fill our hearts with compassion, strengthen our hands to serve, & lead us to welcome all with love.

2 CORINTHIANS 10:5
A REFLECTION

This verse reminds us that much of the battle of faith takes place in the mind. Paul urges us to take every thought captive & make it obedient to Christ because discipleship requires obedience not only in our actions but also in our thoughts. Sin clouds our judgment, so we should not trust every thought that enters our minds. Instead, we test our thoughts against God’s Word & submit them to Christ’s authority.

Fear, pride, resentment, temptation, & false assumptions can quietly become strongholds when we leave them unexamined. As Christians, we neither bury difficult thoughts nor allow them to rule us. Instead, we bring them before Christ & ask: Is this true? Does it reflect who God is? Will we obey this thought, or will we obey Christ? Does it move us toward love, faith, & faithfulness, or draw us away from them?

Taking a thought captive, then, is an active discipline. We notice the thought, examine it in the light of truth, reject what is false, & submit what remains to Christ.

Here’s a simple practice: When a troubling thought keeps returning, don’t merely ask, “How do we stop thinking this?” Instead, ask, “How can we make this thought obedient to Christ?” That question can transform an internal struggle into an act of discipleship. 😇

In the aftermath of 9/11, Salvation Army volunteers showed up for people who were hurting, afraid, and uncertain about what came next.

They provided practical help while also offering something deeply important: their presence. Simply being there brought comfort and peace to people facing unimaginable circumstances.

SEEK & BELIEVE•FAITH WILL RECEIVE

"And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him." ~Hebrews 11:6 NLT

Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that faith drives a life that pleases God. We approach God believing He is real & that He rewards everyone who sincerely seeks Him.

Biblical faith goes beyond agreeing that God exists. We express faith through trust, relationship, & obedience. We place our confidence in Jesus Christ & continue to follow Him, especially when the road ahead looks unclear.

We sometimes wonder, "Is my faith strong enough?" Hebrews does not call us to manufacture perfect confidence. It calls us to turn to the One Who remains perfectly faithful. We rest our hope not in the strength of our believing but in the character & grace of the God we believe in.

Scripture says that God rewards those who earnestly seek Him, but He does not promise that faith will bring comfort, wealth, or a carefree life. Instead, He rewards us with Himself, His saving grace, transforming presence, guidance, & the growing likeness of Christ within us.

Faith transcends mere profession & becomes practice. As we continually trust Christ, the Holy Spirit actively works within us, shapes our desires, strengthens our obedience, & leads us toward holy living.😇

ACTION STEPS
So, how can we live out Hebrews 11:6 in our daily lives?🤔

1. Seek God before seeking solutions.
When a concern arises today, resist the impulse to rely only on our own understanding. Pause, pray, & bring the situation honestly before God. Ask Him directly, “Lord, how would You have us respond?”

2. Put faith into one obedient action.
Choose one concrete way to respond to God today: forgive someone, encourage a discouraged person, serve someone in need, make restitution, spend time in Scripture, or follow through on something God has already placed on our hearts. We show our faith by turning trust into obedience.

LET'S PRAY!
SOVEREIGN LORD
We believe in You, but our faith sometimes hesitates & wanders. Draw us closer to Jesus & teach us to seek You with sincere hearts. Through Your Holy Spirit, strengthen our faith so that our belief actively shapes how we live. Help us trust You when we cannot see the outcome, obey You when the way costs us, & reflect Christ’s love & holiness in our daily lives. Let our deepest desire & highest reward be to know You more fully & walk faithfully with You.
In Jesus’ Name, we pray.🙏🏻

CLOSING THOUGHT
Faith does not require us to see the whole road. We trust the God Who walks it with us. We seek God faithfully, follow Christ obediently, & let the Spirit transform each step.✝️
