The Bikes For Tykes Collection begins October 17! Have a gently used bike your child has outgrown? Please hold onto it until October 17—that’s when our bike shop partners will begin accepting gently used bike donations for Bikes For Tykes. From October 17 – November 28, you can donate NEW bikes directly to Realities For Children or bring gently used bikes in good condition to one of our participating bike shop partners. These bikes will help provide bikes for youth ages 2–17 in Northern Colorado. Gently used bikes should have no rust, rips or tears and will receive a safety check and minor repairs before being gifted. We encourage you to donate early rather than waiting until the final week! Every bike helps, and our biggest need is for 24” and 26” bikes, but bikes of all sizes are needed and welcomed. Together, we can help put a bike—and the freedom, independence and joy that comes with it—into the hands of a child or youth this holiday season. Help make the holidays a little brighter for a child or youth in our community. We’re looking for local businesses, organizations, and community members to become a Santa’s Workshop Collection Site from October 21 – December 8. By hosting a Collection Site, you can help collect NEW unwrapped toys and NEW winter coats for youth birth–17, as well as NEW items and retail gift cards specifically for teens. Every Collection Site gives our community another place to donate and helps us reach more people who want to make a difference for the youth we serve. Interested in becoming a Collection Site? Bikes For Tykes is coming soon! For many children and youth, a bicycle is more than just a bike. It can mean freedom, independence, transportation, and the chance to simply feel like every other kid. From October 17 – November 28, we’ll be collecting NEW and gently used bikes to help provide bikes for youth ages 2–17 in Northern Colorado who have experienced abuse, neglect, or are at-risk. Our bike shop partners safety-check and make minor repairs to gently used bikes before they are gifted, helping ensure every bike is ready to ride. And this year, we’ve added an extra week to our collection! Start looking now for a gently used bike in good condition—no rust, rips or tears—and plan to donate early. Our biggest need continues to be 24” and 26” bikes, but bikes of all sizes are needed and welcomed. Santa’s Workshop is coming and we need Collection Sites! From October 21 – December 8, we’re looking for businesses, organizations and community members to join us as a Santa’s Workshop Collection Site. Collection Sites help us collect NEW unwrapped toys and NEW winter coats for children and youth ages birth–17, along with NEW items and retail gift cards specifically for teens. These donations are distributed through our Partner Agencies in December to provide holiday gifts to the youth we serve. Will you be a Collection Site and help spread the word? Last night, we had the privilege of celebrating the incredible volunteers who give their time, energy, and heart to Realities For Children.

From helping with fundraising events and item distributions to spreading community awareness and lending a hand wherever needed, our volunteers make a tremendous difference in our ability to serve local children.

Molly & Remi recently volunteered as an ATD-certified Pet Therapy Team at the Colorado Bureau of Investigation Forensic Science 2026 In-Service Event! 🐾🐶

They had the opportunity to meet some of the dedicated professionals who support forensic investigations across Colorado and learn more about the important work they do.

Remi was, of course, happy to make some new friends and bring a little extra joy to the day!

We’re grateful for opportunities like this that allow our teams to connect with and support the incredible people serving our Colorado communities.
