Meet Twix 😻

Story of Twix

Twix wasn’t always our cat. Years ago, her previous owners moved away and left her behind. She was frightened, alone, and surviving the only way she could — waiting for the other cats to finish eating before quietly coming over for whatever scraps were left. Eventually, she decided our home was safe enough to become hers, and from that moment on, she became part of our family.

Since then, Twix has grown into the sweetest soul. She’s shy around new people, but with those she trusts she’s incredibly talkative. She makes little quacking noises instead of meows, argues with us when we say her name, and happily howls whenever she sees me grab her Tuna & Shrimp Meow Mix Tenders in Sauce. She’s quirky, gentle, and full of personality — truly one of a kind.

Around July 20, everything changed. Twix stopped eating, stopped sleeping beside me, and began hiding. Most heartbreaking of all, our normally chatty girl became quiet.

Her vet found that she’s anemic, has an enlarged liver, fluid in her abdomen, and abnormal test results that require further evaluation of her heart. She’s been referred for an abdominal ultrasound, heart imaging, and additional testing to figure out what’s making her so sick. FIP is one possibility, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

We originally expected the testing to cost around $700, but the specialty hospital estimated nearly $3,000 just for diagnostics. After paying for vet visits, bloodwork, X‑rays, medications, and her emergency visit, we’ve reached a point where we simply can’t afford the next step on our own.

We’re asking for help so Twix can receive the testing she needs and begin whatever treatment her vet recommends. Our goal is $5,500 to help cover diagnostics, treatment, medications, and follow‑up care.

Twix has already survived being abandoned once. She finally found a life where she’s safe, loved, and cared for. We just want to give her the chance to keep living it.

🐾 Help Jackson Fight Congestive Heart Failure 🐾
A note from Jackson's family

Meet Jackson — a spirited Jack Russell Terrier mix who brings endless love, support, and joy to an older disabled couple. He is truly the heart of their family.

Their world shattered when Jackson (Jax) was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). This condition causes dangerous fluid buildup around his heart and lungs, making it difficult for him to breathe. Watching him struggle is heartbreaking, and his family is doing everything they can to get the emergency medications he needs to stay stable and manage this disease. CHF isn’t curable, but with proper treatment, Jackson can continue living a happy, comfortable life.

Jackson still has so much life left to enjoy — playing outside, running circles in the grass, and chasing his beloved squeaker toys.

His story began years ago when he was adopted from a struggling rescue. He was the tiny runt of a litter of ten, hiding in a garage and too scared to let anyone near him… except their daughter, Tiffeny. They knew instantly he needed a forever home filled with love and support. After Tiffeny passed away in 2017, Jackson became their source of comfort, strength, and companionship. He has been family in every sense of the word.

Today, Jackson urgently needs help accessing the medications that keep his heart functioning and reduce the fluid in his lungs:

Vetmedin – improves heart pumping and dilates vessels ($116 for 25 days)

Furosemide – helps drain fluid from the lungs

As a family living with a disability on a fixed income, they simply don’t have an emergency fund to cover these unexpected medical costs.

Meet Zita🩷
A note from Zita's family

🐾 Help Zita Get Back on Her Feet 🐾

If you’ve ever met Zita, you know she doesn’t believe in acting her age. At 11 years old, she’s still convinced she’s a puppy with important places to go, balls to chase, and jobs to do.

Recently, Zita suffered a partial CCL tear and needs TPLO surgery to repair her knee and give her the best chance at returning to a comfortable, active life. She’s handling recovery like the tough girl she is, but the cost of surgery, medications, and rehabilitation is a challenge for our family.

Zita has spent her life being a loyal companion, a hardworking girl, and a constant source of laughter. She never turns down an adventure, always takes her responsibilities seriously, and somehow still manages to keep us entertained. Right now, her biggest job is learning that “rest” is a complete sentence — a task she finds highly questionable.

🐾 Please Help Guero & Panther Get the Care They Deserve
Hi friends and family! As many of you know, I’m a proud crazy cat lady with a soft spot for every furry face I meet — including the 9 rescues I already care for. Today, I’m asking for help for two stray cats who desperately need medical attention.

I tutor a disabled child with significant medical needs, and her family has the biggest heart. They feed and care for these strays, but with the overwhelming medical bills they already face for their daughter, they simply cannot afford vet care. You’ll see photos of their Make‑A‑Wish trip to Disney — a reminder of everything they’re juggling with love and strength.

🐱 Guero (orange cat)
Guero has stomatitis, a painful dental disease that has caused him to stop eating. He’s pawing at his mouth, drooling, and clearly suffering. The family managed to get him some initial medication, and with help from the Kirkland Foundation, I covered his neuter and vaccines — but he had complications afterward.

Waterhouse Animal Hospital, the best dental team in Fresno, quoted $650–$1,400 for labs and surgery. He also needs FIV/FELV testing, as these diseases can cause stomatitis. His surgery is scheduled for June 17, 2026, and he needs pain medication to make it until then.

🐾 Panther (black cat)
Panther was neutered and vaccinated through Fresno TNR thanks to a generous donor. I applied flea meds, but he now has a skin issue that needs a vet’s attention. I recently caught ringworm myself, so I’m worried that may be the cause. He’s such a sweet boy and deserves proper care.

I’m putting these expenses on my CareCredit, which is already stretched thin from caring for my own rescues. Guero and Panther deserve a chance to live pain‑free and healthy.

🐾 Meet Bruno — a sweet 2‑year‑old tabby who desperately needs help.

A note from Bruno's mom.
Bruno became sick on June 13th and has been struggling ever since. He’s stopped greeting his owner, stopped purring, stopped playing, and even stopped drinking water.

He’s been to his Vet twice for exams, bloodwork, urinalysis, X‑rays, and fluids. The tests ruled out toxicity and arthritis, but Bruno is still unwell — and the next steps require more extensive testing that his owner simply cannot afford.

They’re at a standstill, and Bruno is still fighting to feel better.
