🐾 Meet Duke
UPDATE: Duke’s surgery is scheduled for Monday, June 1st at AVA in McCandless. His estimate is $4,061 (photos attached).

Duke is a 4‑year‑old bulldog mix with the biggest heart and an even bigger love for his ball. He wakes up with it, falls asleep with it, and anyone who knows him knows that playing ball is his purest joy.

But Duke’s life didn’t start easy. He was found living on the streets of West Virginia before a rescue stepped in and placed him with a foster family. Despite everything he’s been through, he grew into the sweetest, happiest, goofiest boy you could ever meet.

About a year and a half ago, Duke injured his CCL. We tried everything to help him heal without surgery — including a custom brace — and for a long time, it worked beautifully.

A few weeks ago, while doing what he loves most, Duke reinjured his hind leg. The brace is no longer enough, and he now needs TPLO surgery to walk comfortably and enjoy his life again. The cost of surgery and recovery can range from $3,000 to $6,000, depending on the severity.

To us, Duke is more than “just a dog.” He’s family. He’s resilient, loving, silly, and he has already overcome so much. We want nothing more than to give him the chance to run, play, and chase his ball pain‑free again.

If you’re able to donate, share, or keep Duke in your thoughts, we would be incredibly grateful. Every bit of support brings us closer to giving our sweet boy the care he needs.

Thank you for loving Duke as much as we do. 💛🐶

Meet Hana 🐾🩷
https://donate.furlanthropy.org/fundraiser/helping-a-senior-stay-strong

A note from Hana's mom,

Hana may be 14, but she still thinks she can outsmart everyone for treats — especially if blueberries or string beans are involved. She’s sassy, stubborn, hilarious, and the heart of my home.

So when she suddenly stopped acting like herself, it was terrifying.

After weeks of managing kidney disease and mitral valve disease at home, she developed severe GI issues and stopped eating. I rushed her to MSPCA-Angell, where she needed emergency hospitalization. I took on significant debt to get her the care she needed, and thankfully she’s now recovering — but the financial strain has become overwhelming.

Hana has been my constant through every high and low. She deserves comfort, care, and a chance to keep enjoying her treat‑filled, mischievous little life. Any support toward her medical bills would mean more than I can express.

Meet Pepper🐾😻
A Note from Pepper's parent

Hello, my name is Ethan, and I’m asking for help to save my soulmate, Pepper. She’s not just my cat—she’s my emotional support animal, my confidant, and the reason I smile every day. Our world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with cancer. I was able to afford her tumor removal, but she now needs immediate radiation and chemotherapy to have a fighting chance.

Pepper has brought so much love into my life, and it breaks my heart that I can’t afford all of her life‑saving care on my own. I refuse to give up on her, but I need a village to help.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward her oncology appointments, chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and the medications she needs. Any donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to giving Pepper the healthy future she deserves. If you can’t donate, please share her story. Your support means the world to us.

Meet Zeek 🐾
A note from his mom

Our beloved cat Zeek has been going through a heartbreaking medical journey. It started with a small swelling in the corner of his left eye that kept growing until it completely covered it. The vet first suspected a tooth abscess and removed several rotten teeth, but even after antibiotics and time to heal, the mass continued to grow.

We were then sent for a CT scan, but the surgical center redirected us to an ophthalmologist. After extensive testing, we received the devastating news that Zeek has cancer. We are heartbroken to be facing the end of his life.

We barely managed to cover his medical bills, and now we’re facing additional unexpected financial hardships. Things are tighter than ever, and we’re doing our best to stay afloat. Any help — truly any amount — means more than we can express. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.

Meet Jasper🐾😺
A note from Jasper's parent-

My cat Jasper means everything to me. Earlier this year, he was bitten by one of my other cats, and what started as a tiny puncture wound has turned into something much more serious. When I took him to the vet in February, the doctor explained that his body had built up a wall behind the wound to stop infection from spreading. That “wall” has now become a large lump on his neck.

Because Jasper keeps scratching at it, the wound won’t heal and bleeds every day. He’s on antibiotics and an ointment I apply twice a day, but the vet says surgery is the only way to remove the lump and stop him from constantly reopening it. The scariest part is that if the lump gets too big, it may not be possible to remove it at all — and it already looks bigger than it did at our first visit.

I want nothing more than to help him, but I simply don’t make enough to cover rent, bills, and save for his surgery. I’m not eligible for Care Credit because of past mistakes, and it breaks my heart to watch him suffer.

Jasper has already been through so much. As a kitten, he was found in a shopping bag tied shut and left in the middle of the street. South Shore Vet posted about him, and when I went to see him, he was terrified. He hid his face in my arms, then looked up at me and let me kiss him. In that moment, I knew he was meant to come home with me.

He went from being scared of every noise to becoming the prince of the castle. He helped me through the loss of my other cat, Lil’ Man, and he truly is the love of my life. I don’t know what I would do without him.

If you’re able to help — even a little — it would mean the world to both of us. Thank you for caring about Jasper and for any support you can give during this difficult time

Meet Coda
Coda’s story from his mom 🐾

Coda fell down the stairs recently and badly injured his paw pad. What started as inflammation turned into swelling, hardness, and pain so severe he couldn’t put pressure on it. The vet recommended anesthesia to drain a possible abscess and x‑rays to rule out fractures, but we couldn’t afford the full estimate. They sent us home with antibiotics and pain meds, but his condition worsened — and that’s when we reached out to this community.

Because of your generosity, we now have enough to move forward with the vet’s initial plan. We should have a full diagnosis by the end of the week.

We’re keeping the fundraiser open because additional treatment will likely be needed. I’m a full‑time clinical social work student doing unpaid internships, and with one income, we’re stretched thin.

Coda has been with us since before my oldest was born. He woke me up the night my water broke. He’s helped raise our kids, brings joy to everyone he meets, and even now — limping, hurting — he still rolls over for belly rubs and basks in the sun.

Thank you for helping him get back on his paws. We feel your love and support every step of the way 🤎🐶

Meet Pen❤️😍

A note from Penny's mom-
Meet Penny — born on Star Wars Day, May 4th, 2025, and in the very year pennies stopped being minted. From the moment she arrived, she was meant to be part of our family.

The only red merle female in her litter, Penny stood out instantly. Full of life, full of zoomies, and full of curiosity, she explored the world with joy — splashing in water, chasing toys, and wiggling her way into our hearts.

But as she grew, something changed. What looked like clumsy puppy steps turned into a limp… then difficulty standing… then struggling with stairs. After vet visits and evaluations, we received heartbreaking news: Penny has severe arthritis caused by double hip dysplasia, and she now needs a double FHO surgery to live a pain‑free life.

Without surgery, even simple joys — running, jumping, playing, going outside comfortably — will become more painful. But with this procedure, Penny has a real chance to get back to being the happy, energetic puppy she’s meant to be.

This surgery is life‑changing, but it’s also costly — especially with both hips needing repair. We’re committed to giving Penny the life she deserves, but we can’t do it alone.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings Penny one step closer to running freely again. And if you can’t donate, sharing her story helps just as much.

Together, we can help Penny get back to being a puppy.

Meet Panda🐾
https://donate.furlanthropy.org/fundraiser/adam-allen

A Note from Panda's Dad:
Panda has been part of our family since he was just 4 months old — he’s now 8, and anyone who knows him knows he’s always been an active, happy dog who loves walks, exploring the woods, and especially playing in the snow.

Back in July, Panda shattered his back femur and underwent surgery to repair it. A rod was placed in his leg, and for a while, it looked like he was healing well. But after his October check-up, everything changed. His leg began to decline, and now, 8 months later, his femur is still shattered and the rod has shifted into his muscle. His medical team is now discussing the possibility of a bone graft to save his leg.

This past winter — normally his favorite time of year — Panda couldn’t enjoy the snow the way he always has. He hasn’t been able to be the active, adventurous dog he loves to be.

We’re sharing Panda’s story in hopes of getting him the help he needs. Please like, share, and spread the word. Every bit of support brings him closer to healing.

Meet Valley ❤️🐾
A Note from Valley's Foster Mom:
https://www.facebook.com/donate/1391282656371664/

Valley was promised his dad would return in the morning—but he never did. What was supposed to be a one‑night favor turned into months of silence, and Valley was heartbreakingly abandoned. For the past three months, his foster mom has been his safe place, helping him heal emotionally… but physically, he’s in crisis.
Valley is in constant pain from severe dental disease. He urgently needs specialized dental surgery to remove infection and finally bring him relief. The cost is $5,078.36, far more than his foster can cover alone.
How you can help:
• $25 helps with pain meds
• $100 supports anesthesia and monitoring
• $500 covers a major part of his extractions
• Any amount brings him closer to a pain‑free life
Every dollar donated through Furlanthropy.org goes directly to Valley’s surgery. Please donate or share. Let’s show Valley he was never meant to be left behind.
