Coaches: Want to build trust with a new athlete? Start simple.

Trust doesn't happen because you gave a great speech on Day 1. It happens through the little things you do consistently.

🥎Learn their name & a little something about them not related to the sport.
🥎Listen before you correct.
🥎Explain the “why” behind what you're asking them to do.
🥎Do what you say you're going to do.
🥎Notice their effort—not just their results.
🥎And don't underestimate the power of asking, “How are you doing?” and actually waiting for the answer.

Athletes don't need a perfect coach. They need a coach who is consistent, trustworthy, and genuinely invested in them.

🏒 Could your family host a hockey player this school year?

This August, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and Warrior Fellowship Academy (WFA) are launching a new discipleship-based hockey academy in Lynchburg, and we're looking for Christian families to open their homes to student-athletes (ages 16–18).

These young men are coming from 13 different states to grow in their faith, academics, and hockey. You don't have to know anything about hockey—just have a heart to provide a welcoming, Christ-centered home.

🏡 Host families receive a **$500 monthly stipend** to help with food expenses.

If you've ever considered investing in a young person's life, we'd love for you to prayerfully consider becoming a host family.
