When Brenda Smith saw our post celebrating our first 75 Strong Community Partner, she immediately reached out and said, “I want to be your #2!” 💙

And just like that, we had Community Partner #2! Brenda stopped by today and paid for her first 6 months of support up front and asked us to send her an invoice when it was time for the next donation! How easy is that?

Brenda and Smith Built Roofing have been wonderful supporters of CIS for several years, always willing to step in when there's a need. As a former educator, Brenda has seen firsthand the difference CIS makes in the lives of students, and her commitment to supporting that work continues!

Brenda, thank you for believing in our mission, answering the call when we need you, and now helping us build 75 Strong! We are so grateful for you and the Smith Built Roofing family! 💙

And the best part? We're already up to THREE new Community Partners! 🎉

Who's ready to help us keep growing?
We offer multiple ways to sign up!

🎃🎶 PORCHTOBER IS COMING TO DOWNTOWN FITZGERALD! 🎶🎃

This Halloween, there’s a little extra something happening downtown! 👻

As you’re making your way along your trick-or-treat route, stop and enjoy some LIVE MUSIC with us!

🎻 Chasidy Wood and Christian Alexander will be bringing the music to Central Avenue, and we’ll wrap up the evening with The Highway 129 Band on the back porch of the Carnegie Center!

📅 Saturday, October 31
⏰ 6:00–9:00 PM
📍 Downtown Fitzgerald

We’re keeping things small and simple this year, but we’re excited to bring a little music to the Halloween festivities! Grab your candy buckets, enjoy the downtown atmosphere, and spend a little time with us along the way! 🍬🎸

This event is part of our RC3 grant with the Georgia Council for the Arts.

Presented by the Fitzgerald-Ben Hill Arts Council with support from the Georgia Council for the Arts.

Happening Saturday - fun family event!

Chalk it up to fall! 🎨
Join us for the Sidewalk Chalk Fall Fest — Saturday, October 17 from 10:30AM to 12 noon on the sidewalk in front of The Grand Theatre.
Meet us under the marquee to get your designated spot and supplies, then let the creativity flow. Children and adults are both welcome — it's fun for the whole family.
We'll be hosting this again during Pumpkin Painting in the Park and Movie Night in the Park, so if you can't make it Saturday, you'll have another chance to grab some chalk.
Come out, make some art, and help us bring color to downtown Fitzgerald. 🖍️

Thank you Central Wesleyan Church of Fitzgerald for this provision for our community! Please share for those that could use a food box:

🚨 UPDATE 🚨 We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are out of food already. If we have another turn out like this next month, we will up our numbers again.

📣 Spread the word: we have 24 more bags than usual this month! We apologize that we’ve run out so quickly the past couple of months, but we are pleased to be able to serve 24 additional families this month!

If you’re new, welcome! We have a free food bag for families in need. We’re the church across from Piggly Wiggly. All you have to do is drive under or walk up to our breezeway; please enter from the Johnston Street alley. If it’s your first visit in 2026, we’ll assist you in completing a TEFAP form (it’s very quick!). The line will open by 9 am; it usually opens earlier if volunteers are ready. Central Wesleyan Church is an equal opportunity provider.

Tomorrow, we can also help you register for Central’s Thanksgiving Day drive through. We offer Thanksgiving meals to go to families in need using our same drive through method.

Stop by 701 S Main Street today and check out the goodies on our porch. Excess donation to share - and all free! Available until 4pm or gone.

💙 75 Strong starts with ONE, and we couldn’t ask for a better #1!

We are excited to recognize Lisa Cox as our very first 75 Strong Community Partner!

Lisa is no stranger to the CIS family. As a former CIS employee, she has continued to support our students and our work long after leaving our staff. Through her role with Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, Lisa continues to partner with CIS, volunteer with our programs and activities, and show up for our students year after year.

And now she’s supporting CIS in one more way by becoming our first monthly 75 Strong donor!

Lisa, thank you for continuing to believe in CIS and the students we serve. We’re pretty proud to have you as Community Partner #1!

Now the question is... who will be #2?
Join Lisa and help us build 75 Strong!
