After the death of 2 of his close friends due to gun violence, Bernard Baker was inspired to launch an organization that would create change in the community. So with that in mind, The Bigg B Foundation was launched to empower, inspire, and transform the community, one person, at a time. Baker saw a profound need in the South and Middle Georgia communities, for mentorship directed towards youth or

young adults who were often angry, fatherless, disenchanted with school, feeling disenfranchised, and on the brink of hopelessness and despair. He also recognized that fatherless teenage boys have a higher than average risk of participating in crime, dropping out of school, and entering into the prison system before the age of 18. The Bigg B Foundation is a holistic mentoring organization that addresses the social, emotional, and cultural needs of youth or young adults ages 8-21 in the community. The program focuses on building essential skills needed to become productive, contributing citizens. Bigg B Foundation is dedicated to helping them choose the path to success by providing the resources, tools, support, and community.
