Immediate Placement STILL Needed

How about a girl named Jake! 😸
We didn't name her. One of the feeders did, because he thought she was a boy.
Regardless of the s*x, a kitty needs your help! 🐾
Jake is our Memorial Day trap, a teenage pregnancy, young mother, and mom to five kittens who was hunkered down under a trailer in a trailer park in Leominster. The neighbors advised she had been around since the winter, and the week before Memorial Day they started noticing kittens.
We started trap training Jake and her kitts the Thursday before Memorial Day, so all the kittens and Mom were happy to go into the trap to eat their food and leave the streets forever that Monday. 🏡
We thought this would be an open-and-closed case of trapping and handing them right over to a shelter to get a healthy mom and babies vetted and adopted.
Unfortunately not.
Jake lost her appetite. She was getting lethargic. She wasn't doing well. 💔
So we took Jake and the kittens back from the shelter so we could get Jake well again.
Jake is not feral. She is just scared around strangers and has already warmed up to her foster mom. ❤️
She's gone to the vet three times for blood work, more blood work, exams, and X-rays. 🩺
Her blood work showed her albumin levels were off, and she had a bit of anemia.
We unfortunately are looking at pancreatitis.
This is painful.
Maybe this is why she is not eating.
Jake's foster mom has been vigilant with her care, following the care plan, giving fluids and meds, and overseeing the care of her babies. 💊
Her babies are all eating soft food now, growing, and playing. They are big enough to be weaned from Mom, so the vet advised giving Jake a break to help her heal. 🍼🐱
But, we need more of a break foe her. Anyone for space in a quiet home for a sweet girl that only took a day to warm up to her human the first time around so she can recover and relax?

Jake's babies have names in true Memorial Day style after the beaches involved in the Battle of Normandy on D-Day. 🇺🇸 History buffs and all Americans can appreciate the creativity and patriotism of the foster mom who named them. There is one gray tabby girl, a mini-me of Mom, and four boys: three orange kittens and a black-and-white tuxedo.
If you are interested in her babies, they will not be ready for at least a month and a half, so check back and we can advise where they will be adopted out from, whether through us or a shelter.
